BABS SEED PRESENTS MELODY

The title of this record album refers to the biggest and, I feel, the greatest thing I've ever had the pleasure of doing in my career thus far...showcasing a great vocal talent that will be heard for years to come - and one that is, at a surprise, very young.

You've probably heard about the fact that I am one of the most talented young singers Equestria's got today - and I get that quip from a lot of folks - and now, ladies and gentlemen, mares and gentle-stallions rather, here is another one.

She came to my attention one day while I was sitting in my office. While I was rehearsing songs from the soon-to-be-released album I'LL STAY RIGHT HERE WITH YOU (due for September for RCA Victor), I heard a knock at the door. I opened it to reveal a stallion - whose name will not be disclosed here - who showed up with this young filly. He explained to me that this girl can act, dance, and - crucially to this record - has an incredible singing voice, which she demonstrated to me in what I told him was a quite moving and inspirational performance of the Jerome Kern number "The Song is You" which is among the songs she performs on this record. I then told him to take her to the RCA Victor executive, who signed her up immediately.

What we have here is a selection of tunes as beautiful and spectacular as the filly herself. The song I had mentioned earlier, along with ballads such as "Suddenly There's a Valley" and "Heart of My Heart" are given the fresh, breathtaking treatment of Melody, who also takes pleasure in singing some of today's greatest tunes, such as ''The Shadow of Your Smile'', ''Somewhere My Love'' and ''Yesterday''. To mark this fact, I label Side 1 as ''Dedicated to Melody's Parents and Grandparents'', and I label Side 2 as ''Dedicated to Melody's Friends At School''.

Both of these parties have every reason to talk about the great singing talent possessed by Melody and the rich, golden voice that she applies here...and I hereby have to say that I'm pretty sure everybody else is going to, too.

1---SUDDENLY THERE'S A VALLEY (Chuck Meyer-Bill Jones)

When you've climbed the highest mountain
When a cloud holds the sunshine in
Suddenly there's a valley
Where the earth knows peace with man

When a storm hides the distant rainbow
And you think you can't find a friend
Suddenly there's a valley
Where friendships never end

Touched only by the seasons
Swept clean by the waving grain
Surveyed by a happy bluebird
And kissed by the falling rain

When you think there's no bright tomorrow
And you feel you can't try again
Suddenly there's a valley
Where hope and love begin!

2---ANYTIME (Herbert ''Happy'' Lawson)

Anytime you're feeling lonely
Anytime you're feeling blue
Anytime you feel down hearted
That will prove your love for me is true.

Anytime you're thinking 'bout me
That's the time I'll think of you
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you.

Anytime your world is lonely
And you'll find true friends a few
Anytime you see a rainbow
That will be a sign the storm is through.

Anytime will be the right time
Anytime at all will do
Anytime you're sure you want only my love
That's the time I'll come back home to you.

Anytime you're thinking 'bout me
That's the time I'll think of you
Anytime you say you want me back again
That's the time I'll come back home to you.

3---THE SONG IS YOU (Jerome Kern-Oscar Hammerstein II)

I hear music when I look at you
A beautiful theme of every dream I ever knew
Down deep in my heart I hear it play
I can feel it start, then it melts away

I hear music when I touch your hand
A beautiful melody from some enchanted land
Down deep in my heart, I hear it say
"Is this the day?"

I alone have heard this lovely strain
I alone have heard this glad refrain
Must it be forever inside of me?
Why can't I let it go? Why can't I let you know?

Why can't I let you know the song my heart would sing?
Beautiful rhapsody of love and youth and spring
The music is sweet, and the words are true
The song is you!

4---HEART OF MY HEART (Ben Ryan)

I sometimes wish I was a kid again
Down in the old neighbourhood
Just to be with Charlie, with little Joe and Pete
Boy, we had a quartet that was mighty hard to beat
I'd love to stand down by that cellar door
Just to hear that Quartet sing once more....

"Heart of my heart", I love that melody
"Heart of my heart" brings back a memory
When we were kids on the corner of the street
We were rough and ready guys
But oh, how we could harmonise

"Heart of my heart" meant friends were dearer then
Too bad we had to part
I know a tear would glisten
If once more I could listen
To the gang that sang "Heart of my heart"

"Heart of my heart", I love that melody
"Heart of my heart" brings back a memory
When we were kids on the corner of the street
We were rough and ready guys
But oh, how we could harmonise

"Heart of my heart" meant friends were dearer then
Too bad we had to part
I know a tear would glisten
If once more I could listen
To the gang that sang "Heart of my heart"

5---MY MELANCHOLY BABY (Ernie Burnett-George Norton)

Come, sweetheart mine, don't sit and pine
Tell me of the cares that make you feel so blue
What have I done, answer me, hon
Have I ever said an unkind word to you

My love is true, and just for you
I'd do almost anything at any time
Dear, when you sigh, or when you cry
Something seems to grip this very heart of mine

Come to me my melancholy baby
Cuddle up and don't be blue
All your fears are foolish fancy, maybe
You know, dear, that I'm in love with you

Every cloud must have a silver lining
Wait until the sun shines through
Smile, my honey dear, while I kiss away each tear
Or else I shall be melancholy too.

6---THE OBJECT OF MY AFFECTION (Grier-Poe-Tomlin)

The object of my affection
Can change my complexion
From white to a rosy red
Anytime he holds my hand
And tells me that he's mine

There are many boys who can thrill me
And some who can chill me
But I'll just hand around
And keep acting like a clown
Until he says he's mine

Now I'm not afraid that he'll leave me
Cause he's not the kind to take a dare
But instead I trust him implicitly
He can go where he wants to go
Do what he wants to do, I sure don't care

The object of my affection
Can change my complexion
From white to a rosy red
Anytime he holds my hand
And tells me that he's mine

The object of my affection
Can change my complexion
From white to a rosy red
Anytime he holds my hand
And tells me that he's mine

There are many boys who can thrill me
And some who can chill me
But I'll just hand around
And keep acting like a clown
Until he says he's mine

Now I'm not afraid that he'll leave me
Cause he's not the kind to take a dare
But instead I trust him implicitly
He can go where he wants to go
Do what he wants to do, I sure don't care

The object of my affection
Can change my complexion
From white to a rosy red
Anytime he holds my hand
And tells me that he's mine!

1---YESTERDAY (John Lennon-Paul McCartney)

esterday all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they're here to stay
Oh I believe in yesterday

Suddenly I'm not half the girl I used to be
There's a shadow hanging over me
Yesterday came suddenly

Why he had to go I don't know he wouldn't say
I said something wrong now I long for yesterday

Yesterday love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place to hide away
Oh I believe in yesterday

Why he had to go I don't know he wouldn't say
I guess I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday

Yesterday love was such an easy game to play
Now I need a place, a place to hide away
Oh I believe in yesterday!

1---SOMEWHERE MY LOVE (Lara's Theme)
(from the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film ''Doctor Zhivago'') (Maurice Jarre-Paul Francis Webster)

Somewhere my love, there will be songs to sing,
Although the snow covers the hope of spring,
Somewhere a hill blossoms in green and gold,
And there are dreams, all that your heart can hold.

Someday, we'll meet again my love,
Someday, whenever the Spring breaks through.

Where are the beautiful days?
Where are the sleigh rides 'till Dawn?
Where are the tender moments of splendor?
Where have they gone? Where have they gone?

You'll come to me out of the long ago,
Warm as the wind, soft as the kiss of snow,
Till then my sweet, think of me now and then,
Godspeed my love, 'till you are mine again.

Someday, we'll meet again my love,
Someday, whenever the Spring breaks through.

Somewhere my love, there will be songs to sing,
Although the snow covers the hope of spring.
Till then my sweet, think of me now and then,
Godspeed my love, 'till you are mine again!~

2---THE SHADOW OF YOUR SMILE
(from the Warner Brothers film ''The Sandpiper'') (Johnny Mandel-Paul Francis Webster)

The shadow of your smile
When you are gone
Will color all my dreams
And light the dawn
Look into my eyes
My love and see
All the lovely things
You are to me

Our wistful little star
Was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips
And so did I
Now when I remember spring
All the joy that love can bring
I will be remembering
The shadow of your smile

Our wistful little star
Was far too high
A teardrop kissed your lips
And so did I
Now when I remember spring
All the joy that love can bring
I will be remembering
The shadow of your smile.~

4---MOON RIVER (from the Paramount film ''Breakfast at Tiffany's'')
(Johnny Mercer-Henry Mancini)

Moon River, wider than a mile:
I'm crossing you in style someday.
Old dream maker, you heart-breaker,
Wherever you're going, I'm going your way.

Two drifters, off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.

We're after the same rainbow's end,
Waitin' round the bend,
My huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

Moon River, wider than a mile:
I'm crossing you in style someday.
Old dream maker, you heart-breaker,
Wherever you're going, I'm going your way.

Two drifters, off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.

We're after the same rainbow's end,
Waitin' round the bend,
My huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

5---STRANGERS IN THE NIGHT (from the Universal film ''A Man Could Get Killed'')
(Kaempfert-Singleton-Snyder)

Strangers in the night exchanging glances
Wondering in the night
What were the chances we'd be sharing love
Before the night was through

Something in your eyes was so inviting
Something in your smile was so exciting
Something in my heart told me I must have you

Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello
Little did we know
Love was just a glance away
A warm embracing dance away

And ever since that night we've been together
Lovers at first sight, in love forever
It turned out so right for strangers in the night

Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment when we said our first hello

Little did we know
Love was just a glance away
A warm embracing dance away

Ever since that night we've been together
Lovers at first sight, in love forever
It turned out so right for strangers in the night.

5---Theme from the Columbia film BORN FREE (John Barry)

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free and life is worth living
But only worth living
'Cause you're born free.

Born free, as free as the wind blows
As free as the grass grows
Born free to follow your heart

Live free and beauty surrounds you
The world still astounds you
Each time you look at a star

Stay free where no walls divide you
You're free as the roaring tide
So there's no need to hide

Born free and life is worth living
But only worth living
'Cause you're born free.

Cool, my OC's a singer now.

What gave you the idea for this?

3567843 In this blog post, your OC was quoted as saying the following:

Hi, hi, hi! I'm Melody! I love to sing and dance and act and hang out with friends!

The front cover of this album would have consisted of the following:
