Persona Qsday #8! · 6:14am Nov 17th, 2015

We're back with week eight of my Persona Q coverage!

Remember, only plot spoilers from P3/P4 will be tagged! Character names from both games and plot details specific to Persona Q will NOT be tagged. Proceed at your own risk.

When last we left off, our heroes were in the middle of exploring the third floor of Group Date Cafe, and yours truly was getting more and more sick of Teddie.

Let's plunge back in!

GROUP DATE CAFE

Stop 3

There's a point on the third floor of GDC where you have two FOEs blocking the path and no easy way to draw them out of your way. If you draw out the one immediately in your way, it gives you no room to get the other one out of your way. There are essentially two ways to deal with this puzzle: a long, circuitous route that involves another room entirely, its FOE, and a two-way wall passage...

...or simply kill the FOE that's in your way.

I decided to go with the latter option. After a relatively short (for an FOE fight) battle in which I practically curbstomped a Beast of Lust FOE, I continued on my merry way!

Further in, there's another event. The girls are talking about romantic pairings. Well, it's more the Gekko girls are embarrassing the hell out of the Yaso girls. It's a fun little cutscene until it gets MURDERED by Teddie being obnoxious.

I'm now at the point that I just skip past Teddie's dialogue without letting him finish or even reading it. The game's suddenly a lot more enjoyable!

Behind the locked door on this floor is an FOE you can't avoid: the God of Romance. Fortunately, it's a relative pushover. There's a little more to explore after that, with some treasure to find and the Floor Chest to open (I opened it at 99%, then took the last step needed for 100% on my way around to the shortcut to the stairs. Figures...). After that...

GROUP DATE CAFE

Stop 4

...but there's still quite a bit of this labyrinth left to explore, so it seems best to backtrack for now.

Upon returning to the school, Elizabeth takes the party aside for a chit-chat, which leads to a new request.

Speaking of requests, FUCK TEDDIE. I know every single one of these blogs has a bitching rant about Teddie, but that's only because his MOST ANNOYING TENDENCIES are such a MASSIVE PART OF THE GAME that it gets...

Just...FUCK TEDDIE.

Anyway, so there's a really annoying Teddie-centric request, and then there's a couple of Stroll scenes that mercifully do not have Teddie in them at all, and then there's the "Persona Check" request, which basically amounts to "fight Elizabeth".

Persona fans know where this is going, and it isn't going anywhere pretty.

Elizabeth starts off with some pretty abrasive trash talk. She's a bigger damage sponge than most FOEs, hits pretty hard if you don't have good buffs in place, and once you make her take the fight seriously, she randomly casts Hamaon. She also recovers from status effects way too quickly. The only good thing is that if you can slap her with Sukunda, her attacks miss almost all the time while it's in effect. It's a massively "holy CRAP!" fight.

NEXT TIME: More Group Date Cafe! And hopefully less Teddie.

Pretty awesome :pinkiehappy:
You've just convinced me to give normal a shot; I'm normally not very strategic when it comes to games, and prefer to just...fight, but Persona Q is really fun, and so I'm going to take it a bit slower on levelling up and the like.
I mean, defeating the FOE to advance through Group Date Cafe 3? Amazing!
You, perhaps, wouldn't have a problem with sharing what level you're on? Please?

3547413 Narukami is about level 27 or so, and most of the rest of my team are around level 20-ish.
