What About Discord? Review [Spoilers] · 3:28am Nov 8th, 2015

Another Discord episode, cool. KP outta be over the moon about that

Sooo, basic plot: Twilight (and an unwilling Spike) spend a long weekend re-organizing the Crystal Palace's collection of books just for the halibut, and comes to find, that Discord and her friends have been hanging out and getting along.

That right there is one of the reasons this has become one of my favorite episodes. I always felt like Discord was an outside character, one the Mane Six, and dare I say, the rest of Equestria didn't take too kindly to. But now, this was an awesomely-refreshing breath of fresh air to see Discord not treated by our heroes with skepticism or suspicion, but an honest-to-god friend. Twilight however, under the impression that her friends have been taken over by a spell placed upon them by Discord, goes to Zecora's for a potion that, if consumed, will break the spell placed upon her poor, poor friends. This was actually a bit amusing to me, that the Princess of Friendship didn't believe that our resident draconequus is truly buddy-buddy with her other five friends. It makes me so glad to see that princesshood hasn't truly changed Twilight's character. We still see she's the Princess of Science, she can get jealous, she can get suspicious, and everything else. Ehh, what else to say...OH! Back to the Future reference for the win!

Let's see....uh....

*roots around in the wastebin of past scripts*

OH! Yes, the fact that one of our villains [DISCORD of all people!] has taught our cast a (personally) valuable lesson. Granted that Discord is a reformed villain, but still, this goes far beyond what I expected this episode to cover. The moral in a nutshell, that you'll have other friends, and other friends will be friends with friends- you're going to miss out at one point or another, you can't be everywhere at once, or have control over every situation. This one really hit close to home, and it makes me so so, so happy to see this covered in a show about friendship.

This was an awesome episode- and one that I'll be sure to watch again.
