I think I just had a heart palpitation...yeah, that was NOT fun. I walked up stairs with my iced tea, jumped to sit down (maybe I'm gaining weight because the carpet floor groaned) and began to watch my little pony! Then, as I cursed Daily Motion for how slow it loads, my heart began to pound like I had just seen my future orgy sex tape. That was uncanny, but I'm being real here!! I freaked out and the first thing I do is this:
Okay, before you say anything about my profile I'd just like to say in my defense that Jatel Jin is the name of this OC I made awhile back. I ended up using the account I used to post drawings of her as my own because my old account was...taken.
Anyway, do you see what ponies are doing to me???
You ok now? Your heart all better?

Ouch... those are never good. Had one of those. Neither is tachycardia. Had too many of those for my age and I'm pretty fit. Hope you'll recover well. *Hugs*
3526999 *grips your fit body* ahem...sorry, got carried away.
3528560 *Blushes fiercly* No worries, sweetie.
I remember my first tachycardia. Thought I was dying. I've had had several since then, but a catheter ablation fixed it (still suffering from other types of arrhythmia, but at least that shit is gone).
Anyway, should it happen again, I had found out what helped for me:
0. Stay calm. Don't panic. Even if the following steps don't work, if you calm down and get your body into a horizontal position and don't forget to breathe, you should be fine. If it persists for several minutes, though, or you find that your hands begin to... hmm, I don't know how to describe the feeling... hands begin to "vibrate" along with your face (it would always start with my teeth) and you're starting to lose vision, then it's time to call 911 or equivalent of your country.
1. Lie down on an even surface so your body isn't tilted in any direction too much – in other words, assume a horizontal position lying down.
2. Bend your legs in your knees by lifting them upward upward, but keep your feet rested against the ground/floor/whatever
3. Take a deep breath, slowly breathe out as much as you can and hold. Don't breathe in again for a few seconds.
4. Now quickly take another breath.
5. Take a few normal breaths.
6. Repeat until tachycardia is gone.
Might've worked for me because I also suffer from some kind of respiratory arrhythmia where my heart rate changes heavily just by breathing. Anyway, hopefully this was a one time thing. Shit ain't funny, I tell you.
