    Opportunity Bonus Chapter

Just a little update, in case people don't get the notification for some reason or another.

I've just released a little bonus chapter for My battery is low, and it's getting dark on account of the story's fifth anniversary.

Writing, Art, Game Development and other things

I’m really terrible at keeping everyone updated, aren’t I? I’m always so inconsistent with writing blog posts like these. Maybe that can be my belated New Year’s resolution. So, I’ve got a couple of things here.

    Who wants a free game?

So, if any of you can remember back to the distant past of early 2022, you might remember a blog post of mine where I announced the fact that was going self-employed as an indie game developer. (Because if I'm gonna work for idiots all my life, that idiot might as well be me.)

First of all, Happy New Year to all of you, and I hope you have some time for me, because this blog will be a rather lengthy one. So get a beverage of your choice and sit back while you read this. There’s a few things that I want to cover here.

CBS announces new Star Trek series for 2017 · 8:19pm Nov 2nd, 2015

Considering Spikes&Apples makes a lot of references to Star Trek, I felt it made sense to make a blog post to inform all you Trekkies out there about it. Yes, it looks like Star Trek will be making a return to television screens: LINK

The way I heard about it, is because there's a special promotion event over at Star Trek: Online, where you can get a pack of free Enterprise goodies in-game to celebrate the announcement.

Yes, Spike. I know. It's the show which must not be named. But even you and I have to admit, the NX-01 is a pretty ship. And you can get it for free! Plus the normal and mirror universe Enterprise era uniforms (which aren't too bad) and the T'Pol bodyhugger suit (which is absolutely stupid and one of the reasons the show sucked so much.) Well, two out of three ain't bad.

Speaking of shipping, I know I've really been running late on the next chapter of Spikes&Apples. But I am working on it, and I'm hoping it'll be done this week, next week at the latest.

Yay Spikes and Apples! Yay Star Trek, maybe! Possibly! Maybe this one won't suck too bad! Hopefully!

Also, congrats in advance for impending 700 followers :yay:

Psst! Not so loud. I haven't figured out what to do when I reach that milestone yet.:twilightsheepish:

Something something audience suggestions something sexy something something?

I doubt they'll set it there, but I've always wanted to see a series set during the Earth-Romulan War. Just the early Coalition of Planets (mostly Humans, Vulcans, Tellarites and Andorians) against the Romulans, a relatively small volume of space involved, and (especially for such an important part of the mythos) not much pre-existing material to trip over. As far as the timeline is concerned, it started just after the run of Enterprise, a century before TOS, so they don't even have to worry about any of that whether they reboot the universe (again) or not.

That could be interesting. Although I doubt they'd settle themselves with making a more or less direct sequel to the worst Trek-show ever.

Personally, I'd just like to see a good show, preferably in what is now referred to as the Prime Universe, i.e. the one before the reboot. I don't want lens flares in space, and I don't need another reboot. I think it would be kinda nice to pick up where Voyager left off or slightly later, maybe seeing an older Admiral Riker as a recurring guest.

Michael Dorn's been pushing for a show around Worf being Captain for the last couple years.:rainbowlaugh: Though it would surprise me if that's the one CBS is going with.

3516164 If you are really interested to see a take on the Earth-Romulan war, there are a number of Star Trek novels set during that time. I've only read one of them and by my standards it was a decent read.

3516219 I agree that something set after Voyager would be the best way to go. Prequel stuff gets too messy at times.
Actually I am very curious whether this will be CBS picking up the Star Trek: Renegades project.

They made a Star Trek Online game...? Meh, I'll keep my "PULSAR: Lost Colony" instead.

...directly to its millions of fans through CBS All Access...

Why would anyone think this was a good idea.

I really do want another Star Trek series though.

Yeah, that's the only thing I'm not too keen on either. But I'm sure they'll show it on TV eventually. And if not, the Internet will find a way to make it accessible for free.
