The final chapter of I Dreamt to Fly is already the longest.

The next chapter is the final, and it's already longer than any other chapter in the story. I've been putting off doing it because of how badly I want to do it right; I don't want it to spontaneously end like the original story did. Pacing is key, and it's really hard for me to determine pacing until I proofread it myself.

I Dreamt to Fly should be returning soon enough.

Now that the holidays are over and chapters are well overdo, I'll be trying to put out chapters every two days again. Even then, there are only like 5 chapters left of the story to go. Excuse my laziness for the time being.

Hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

A toast to 2015, and also a toast to season 5 of MLP. Season 5 was in my opinion the best season yet, so I'm heavily looking forward to the next. Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

    Procrastination

I should be working on the new chapter for I Dreamt to Fly right now but instead I'm sat here watching Star Wars battle scenes. Whoops. At least the new chapter is 2,000 words so far already.

I have such a big writing block right now.

I can't even make a few paragraphs of the next chapter without blanking out and not knowing what to do. It's really starting to frustrate me as I've just sat here for two hours with nothing but a blank word document.

Alternate cover for I Dream to Fly. + Author Notes · 2:31am Oct 28th, 2015

I would have put it as the official cover, but I feel that it spoiled too much.
Drawn by yours truly.

(Moving Author Notes here because I feel like it fits better.)
It took me a whole three years to finish this thing, and I can safely say that I'm still pretty proud of the work I did here.
When I first started this story it had no clear direction from it's conception. I'm a progressive writer, I never really have a set path and I just let what ever I think of guide me along until it's finished. It's easily noticeable by the title, where it's called "I Dream to Fly" but for the entire story has almost nothing to do with Scootaloo learning to fly. There's snippets of the original concept I had in the first couple chapters, but besides that, the title is somewhat misleading.
The original concept was Scootaloo learning to fly, but it quickly shifted into a mystery story about Scootaloo's parents. I didn't want to touch on that subject too much, so I kept it very vague and found ways to keep the reader from getting any definitive answers to any of the questions that were being asked. While it somewhat leaves something to desire at the end, I feel like it was an overall better choice to make, instead of having any controversial twists about her parents. You could say I played the story the safe way, and I did, leaving a lot of it's questions down to the reader's imagination.
The story does end fairly quickly. Just coming to a halt quite unexpectedly. I do feel like the ending is satisfying and makes sense, but at the same time I wish I had dragged out the ending a bit more to drill it into the reader that a lot of questions weren't going to be answered and that it's okay for them not to be, story wise.
I do really think the twists and emotional parts of the story are well done though. Asides from some grammar issues and one or two minor plot inconsistencies, there isn't a lot negative I can say about this personally. But that's just what I think as the author.
I might do a sequel, I'm still debating if it's better off to leave it as it is. Who knows, maybe this story is better left the way it is.
Until next time. ~~~ MrDynasty
