Season 5, Episode 20 · 7:10pm Oct 25th, 2015
SPOILERS!
Okay, before I say anything, no I don't particularly care that Mac and Marble are being put together on the show and that people are now shipping the two like crazy. Honestly, I'm not that fussed. If someone wants to ship it, that's fine by me, Hell I may even read one at some point (I just wish the episode wasn't hammering in the maybe cousins thing while pushing the two together as often as possible!) just so long as people don't make it out to be cannon because, let's face it, it's not!
And, let's also face it, Marble is basically Fluttershy, just taken to a higher level. (Seriously, does she even say a word? I don't think I noticed)
But, onto the episode itself...
I liked it. That's all I can really say. It's not the best episode, but I think it's slightly better than The One That Pinkie Knows. That might be because I'm finally coming down from the high of the Crusader episode.
Oh and Applebloom is always a fun character and her moments always make me smile! But jeez, is she getting alot of screen time recently! Four episodes (That I watched) in a row! I'm happy, don't get me wrong, but because of this I don't expect her to be seen in the next episode.
And please don't spoil it for me! I read that the episode had been leaked and I really, really detest spoilers! I know I forgot to put spoiler warnings on my last blogs, but seriously I will rage if it gets spoiled!
And as for Maude and the Pie family, since I haven't watched the show in a while so I missed Maude's episode, but I wish I didn't! She is a really fun character, despite her being...Well a more talkative, first season Big Mac...
...Is anyone seing a pattern with Pinkie's sisters here?
Anyway, as for AJ...I really don't condone what she did. She got invited to spend the holidays with her friend's family and basically told them that they were stupid and that they should follow hers! As much as I like AJ, what she did was despicable! I mean, I don't go round my mate's house for dinner and try to change his lifestyle to fit mine! Even if I don't agree with it, it's not up to me!
But she learned her lesson, I guess, and got a large rock on her head for her troubles. (Seriously Pinkie, how did you get that massive thing timed to fall so perfectly!)
Granny Smith is always great so, yeah, she was fun!
And Limestone Pie...I think might have been my second-favourite of the episode! I loved her standoffish-ness, even towards her own kin. It makes her interesting since, you know, the formula dictates that all the main characters of the episode have to be nice if they're the characters we're supposed to like. Limestone, however, shows that you can have a likable character without having to making them all huggy, caring and such. And her eyes! She could kill with those things given the incentive! It's frigging awesome!
And that's pretty much my thoughts. I'm not going to stop shipping MacDash anytime soon (Even if MarbleMac does become cannon later, which it probably won't) and the Applebloom/Maude interaction was great. Limestone was a breath of fresh air while Pebble seemed a bit too simular to Flutters for my taste. Granny's interaction with the Pie elders fun and the episode did have the feel-good, family feel to it...It's too bad I have to watch it on my own...*Sighs*
Let me know what you thought of the episode and have a Merry Christmas!
