Unfinished Story Idea

As I promised here's what was the beginning of a Mortal Kombat crossover story. As you can tell it was a bit long for the beginning but it needed to be.

Chapter 1
Earthrealm's Kombatants

Earthrealm, home to millions of beings, was once at peace with all realms. Then came a dark day as Shinnok, an elder god, threatened to destroy Earthrealm and all Elder Gods. Shinnok was defeated and locked away in the Netherrealm. But many followed in his footsteps, like Outworld's Emperor Shao Kahn. Shao Kahn was obsessed with conquering Earthrealm, so Raiden asked the Elder Gods to enact the Mortal Kombat tournament. This gave Earthrealm a chance as the fight moved to the arena where Raiden's and Shao Kahn's greatest warriors fought, in Mortal Kombat.

Amongst Raiden's fighters are two Shaolin monks named, Liu Kang and Kung Lao. Liu Kang is a young male with black hair and a light skin tone. His clothes are that of a Shaolin monk's with changes to its color. He is a master of fire as he uses it to fight his foes, as well as his many hand to hand combat moves. Kung Lao is also black haired, light skin toned, and wears Shaolin monk robes, but instead of fire, Kung Lao uses a bladed hat. Kung Lao also has the ability to teleport, something few kombatants know.

Another fighter, Sub-Zero, is from the Lin Kuei. A clan of martial artists who had mastered the power of ice. Sub-Zero is the strongest of them. But Sub-Zero was not in the tournament as a Lin Kuei, but rather as a way to escape. Sub-Zero and his friend Smoke had learned of their grandmaster's plans to cyberize the Lin Kuei. Sub-Zero and Smoke fled to prevent themselves from being cyberized as well. Sub-Zero has a strong rivalry with a Netherrealm kombatant, Scorpion. Who has accused him, many times, of slaughtering the Shirai Ryu, a rival clan of martial artists. He had only heard that the Lin Kuei had attacked the Shirai Ryu, but he never took part in the attack. Sub-Zero had been visiting his younger brother, Quai Liang, during the attack. Sub-Zero wears water blue, leather armor and a mask that covers from his chin to below his eyes. His hair is also concealed by his armor. Sub-Zero's real name is Bi Han.

Sonya Blade is amongst the Earthrealm kombatants as a chance to snag Kano, a Black Dragon arms dealist. Sonya was part of the Earthrealm Spec Ops and had been asked by Raiden to help defend Earthrealm from Outworld. At first Sonya declined saying she could not stop searching for Kano. Then she learned that Kano would also be entering the tournament and agreed. Sonya is a blond haired caucasian with a vest covered in gadgets. And pants with even more gadgets.

Anyone, and everyone should know about the Hollywood star Johnny Cage. Johnny Cage was asked by Raiden to fight for Earthrealm, but he mistoke it for a role in a movie. Raiden thinks there is much more to Johnny that even he does not know about. Johnny is a blond caucasian with some great flexibility. He has his name sprawled across his chest as a tattoo.

Nightwolf, a Native American kombatant, was asked upon by Raiden to help as Nightwolf has a power few have. Nightwolf accepted Raiden's request, as he felt he was destined to do great things.

Last but not least is Raiden. Raiden is the protector of Earthrealm, and the god of thunder. Much of Raiden is concealed by armor, leather, and his hat. Raiden, in a mortal state, is a caucasian with blue eyes that glow with the power of electricity. Raiden called upon his kombatants to fight and save Earthrealm and hopes he can prevent Shao Kahn from merging Outworld with it.

Chapter 2
Outworld and Netherrealm Kombatants

Outworld, home to the evil emperor Shao Kahn. He sits upon his throne and commands his Tarkatan Army to do his bidding. Shao Kahn may be a large man but he has little to no interaction in the tournament with the Earthrealm kombatants. Although Tarkatens sound like his main source of kombatant, he has more than Tarkatans to fight for him

His daughter, Kitana, originates from another world named Edinia. But when she was young, Shao Kahn merged Outworld with Edinia, killed the king, forced the queen to marry him, and took Kitana and her sister Jade in as his daughters. Kitana wears blue, female assassin robes from Outworld. While Jade wears green.

Amongst Shao Kahn's ranks is a spectre known as Ermac. Ermac was created by Shang Stung using hundreds of souls. Ermac listens to Shao Kahn without question and is capable of tearing limbs off using the power of his souls as a form of telekinesis. Ermac does not show emotions and has no real skin. What many see of Ermac is a robed figure that floats just above the ground. But underneath is wrappings holding souls within him.

As for Ermac's creator, Shang Tsung, not much is known. His age is well over a thousand years and he plays no real role in the tournament besides the announcer. He also ensures that the loser is given an excruciating death. Shang Tsung once fooled a great swordsman to open a tomb of their ancestors releasing the souls so that Shang Stung may absorb them. The swordsman became blind and Shang Tsung left him to die.

From the Netherrealm comes one of the strongest kombatants. Scorpion, spectre of the Netherrealm. Scorpion was once a man named, Hanzo Hasashi. He was skilled with the kunai and was part of the Shirai Ryu. Horror soon struck as the Lin Kuei attacked the Shirai Ryu, killing him, his wife, his son, and his clan. For years Hanzo's soul roamed the Netherrealm trying tirelessly to escape and get his revenge. Quan Chi, master of the Netherrealm, and a very powerful sorcerer, gave Hanzo Hasashi his wish. And so Scorpion was born. With the ability to use fire similar to that of Liu Kang and a chained kunai he uses to pull his enemies closer, Scorpion is feared and respectfully so. Scorpion now searches for the Lin Kuei fighter Sub-Zero with a burning vengeance. Scorpion wears Netherrealm armor concealing all but his hands and eyes. When he removes his mask, underneath is a flaming skull which few ever live to tell the tale of.

Last but not least is Kano, a Black Dragon arms dealer. His cybernetic eye is hard to miss. And if it's pointed directly for a vital be careful, his laser eye will put a few holes in you. Kano is a caucasian Australian with parts replaced by cybernetics. Kano escaped to Outworld when Sonya Blade was hunting him. He now provides firepower for Outworld and the Black Dragon.

Chapter 3
New Kombatants

"Finish Him," yelled Shang Tsung as Liu Kang raised a flaming fist. Liu Kang hesitated, he did not wish to kill the Tarkatan standing before him, accepting his fate.
"I, I can not," Liu Kang said as he lowered his fist.
"Then I will," Shang Tsung growled. Shang Tsung raised a hand and a fire ball shot out igniting the Tarkatan. It screamed falling to the ground. Within seconds the body was ash and Shang Tsung absorbed the Tarkatan's soul. "Liu Kang wins." Liu Kang walked away to rejoin Raiden and Kung Lao.
"You did well Liu Kang," Raiden said.
"Yes, but the Tarkatan did not need to die," Liu Kang mumbled.
"Baraka was, yes, a great warrior but Shang Tsung is ruthless and will always ensure the loser perishes," Raiden commented.

"The next fight will be between Johnny Cage and Scorpion," Shang Tsung announced to the crowd. From the ground, fire ignited as Scorpion rose from the depths. Johnny stepped into the arena with a bit of style.
"You will perish Cage," Scorpion shouted as he let his chained kunai slide into his hand.
"Bring it," Johnny said as he got into a fighting stance.
"Fight," Shang Tsung shouted. In a split second Scorpion's chain was flying towards Johnny striking him in the chest.
"Get over here," Scorpion shouted as he tugged on the chain, pulling Johnny towards him. Johnny stumbled to find a foot hold but it was to late. Scorpion punched Johnny in the stomach multiple times before kicking the side of his head. Johnny fell over dazed but not out. Johnny punched Scorpion in the crotch, giving him time to get up and kick Scorpion in the chest, sending him backward. Scorpion disappeared in a firey explosion only to appear behind Johnny and kick him in the back. Johnny fell over and Scorpion stomped on Johnny's back. The sound of cracking bones echoed and many of the Earthrealm kombatants cringed. Johnny staggered to his feet and flip kicked Scorpion's jaw making some distance between the two kombatants. Scorpion threw another chained kunai but Johnny slide under and delivered another punch to Scorpion's crotch. Unfazed, Scorpion kneed Johnny in the face as he jumped over him throwing his kunai into Johnny's back. Scorpion threw Johnny up in the air and then threw a kunai through Johnny's stomach and pulled him down. Scorpion kicked Johnny in the back and sent him flying. Johnny stood up dazed as Scorpion disappeared again. Next thing Johnny new, a chain hung around his neck and he was being pulled off his feet. That was the last Johnny felt as his skin melted away. Johnny Cage had been pulled through a portal to the Netherrealm and back. Now Johnny Cage's skeleton hung on one of Scorpion's chains held together by cartalidge and the occasional tendon.
"Scorpion wins," Shang Tsung announced.
"It seems we've lost another fighter lord Raiden," Liu Kang said as he turned towards the god of thunder.
"Sadly yes," Raiden said," with such power as Scorpion in the hands of Outworld and the Netherrealm we can manage but will never truly rid Shao Kahn of his claim over Earthrealm." Raiden raised his hand above his head and lightning struck down upon him. When it subsided Raiden was gone.

Shao Kahn paced his throne room as he awaited Quan Chi's arrival with his new kombatants. Shao Kahn was getting very impatient when the doors to his throne room opened and Quan Chi walked in followed by a miss matched man, a shadowy figure, and a man with crystals around his wrists. "You finally arrived Quan Chi," Shao Kahn shouted across the throne room," and you brought your new Kombatants as promised."
"Of course Emperor I would never leave you waiting as long as someone like Shang Tsung might," Quan Chi said with pride," now let me introduce you to the new, and powerful, kombatants to your line up. The mismatched man is Discord a 'god' of chaos if you will."
"Well hello there Mr. Kahn," Discord said as he teleported behind Shao Kahn," if I can call you that?"
"Say it again and I will have your throat torn out of your neck," Shao Kahn replied.
"Aye aye capetan," Discord said as he took his place back in the line of kombatants. Discord's mismatched figure wasn't just in taste of clothes, but also in body parts. He had the body of an Oni, the left arm of a frost dragon, the head of a Saurian, the right leg was human and plenty other parts of creatures even Shao Kahn had never seen. "Hey reader I know I sound different than what you're used to but don't worry. I'm still me."
"Who are you talking to," Shao Kahn asked.
"The reader," Discord replied. Shao Kahn raised a brow and then turned to the man with crystals around his wrists.
"This is Sombra," Quan Chi introduced," he controls crystals in magnificent ways unlike Outworld has ever seen. He may even match Tremor." Sombra cracked his knuckles but said nothing.
"Speak," Shao Kahn commanded.
"He is also rather mute," Quan Chi said," he does not speak."
"Mute is good," Shao Kahn grinned.
"Next is Chrysalis," Quan Chi said as he turned to the shadowy figure.
"Why does she hide behind a cloud," Shao Kahn asked as he tried to investigate Chrysalis.
"We are a shapeshitfter," Chrysalis spoke. The shadow morphed into a female of considerable age. She was young and beautiful with hair of gold and eyes like the sea. Her skin was light and her shape was magnificent. Discord whistled and looked her up and down.
"I'm sure you'll be a strong asset Chrysalis. You, unlike Shang Tsung, will be helpful outside the tournament," Shao Kahn said.
"So we're in," Discord asked.
"Welcome, you three to my legion," Shao Kahn shouted," you will fit nicely."

Today was just an average day for Big Mac as he pulled apples from a tree. He worked on an apple orchard with his grandmother and two sisters. He wore jeans and a plaid shirt with a leather coat on. It was the middle of November and the apples needed to be picked before the first snowfall. Suddenly lightning struck across the orchard near the house. He looked up in the sky to see not a single cloud in sight. He got down from the ladder he was on and ran back to the house.

"Ms. Dash are you sure you want to do this. You can always back out now," Rainbow's executive asked. Rainbow Dash was a master stunt woman who never seemed to fail. Her helmet covered much of her rainbow hair. She had to remind herself to get it dyed a different color soon. She wore a flame retardant jump suit and gloves. She was about to make the jump of a life time.
"Yeah i'm fucking sure," Rainbow shouted. Her hands gripped the handles as she prepared to prove just how awesome she really was. Suddenly the flames in the pit grew stronger. Rainbow became uneasy as from out of the flames stepped some sort of ninja. The ninja scanned the room, his fiery eyes followed everyone until he found his target.
