How Many Times Does Trixie Actually Say "I"?

One of Trixie's best-known traits in the fandom is that she speaks in the third person all the time. But does she really? Turns out, no one has ever counted the times she says "I." Until now...

Hat Man Reviews: "Haze" by Bandy!

Haze is a story that is filled with big ideas: Cloud empires. Flying earth ponies. Ancient religions. Superpower-inducing fungi. Unfortunately, much like the mushroom-munching ponies in this story, this story might be biting off more than it can handle…

I guest starred with Firebrand! · 9:11pm Oct 17th, 2015

Some of you might know Firebrand as a community analyst who does critiques and reviews of episodes of MLP, usually with a humorous bent. Well, in his recent review of "Amending Fences," I guest starred as a Changeling! Jeez, with this and "Daughter of Discord," am I becoming the new fan-voice for Changelings? Is this my new role in the fandom?! Will I be swamped by others wanting me to do that voice for their fanfic dramatic readings?!
Probably not. Here's the video.

I find it a little funny that one of my lines is "Boo, education!" and in real life I'm a teacher. Also, my background is in linguistics, which is why I know that Firebrand mispronounced "Tabula Rasa," but think I can let it slide. :twilightsheepish:

Anyway, it's a funny story how I got the role. So, you know Colby Green, my illustrator and friend, right? Well, I'm a fan of ILoveKimPossibleAlot (or just KP for short) and when I heard she was looking for artists for a little project she's been working on, I told Green about it. He got the job. Well, he also knows a guy named JMore through his KP work who does editing. JMore also edits Firebrand's videos.

One night, Green and he were talking and JMore goes "I need someone to do a Changeling voice, quick!" Green, being the good guy that he is, said "Hey, I have a friend who's voicing a Changeling in 'Daughter of Discord.' Want me to ask him?" And so he contacted me.

Now, this was at 11 pm and I was about to call it a night when I got the message from Green. I got a little background for context and such and asked how soon he needed it. JMore's answer was "Yesterday." Well, considering it was just three little lines, I said "Okay, sure, I'll do 'em now." So I got on Audacity, did a bunch of takes (the "I'm gonna tell him" joke referencing "Frozen" is my favorite), tried my best to clean up the audio, and sent it off within the hour. JMore was pretty nice and I'm glad I was able to help.

Hope you liked it and I'll see you all next time!

Nice. That's some pretty good voice work.

3477692 Kinda wish I'd had more time. My voice was a little raspier than I would have liked and I think I could have done better if I'd had more time. But still, it is actually pretty cool. Plus I'm actually a big enough fan of the analysis community that I'm kinda

right now. :rainbowlaugh:

Hooray! Awesome work Hat Man!:yay:
Your humor and changeling voice work well with the cast of Firebrand and his crew, and it was such a joy watching this video with you in it:twilightsmile: I hope you get voice actor fame in this community for other voices you can do, I have a feeling that you can portray a lot of characters if you wanted to:raritywink: So, let the offers come and hopefully it can lead to more opportunities outside of voicing changelings:twilightsmile: If I ever decide to do an audio drama someday, I would definitely let you know about it:yay:
What other brony analysts are you a fan of? My favorites are Silver Quill and Dr.Wolf:heart:

3478513 Much obliged for the preemptive offer, Miss Koi! As for analysts, Silver Quill is my favorite. I find them both thoughtful and they make an honest effort to be hilarious. That or Kimi Sparkle. :trollestia:
On that note, Silver Quill actually wrote a story on here and it's one of my personal favorites. It's called A Dodgy Business if you haven't read it.

Haha lol even if it's for a possibly Fluttercord story:raritywink:? Keep in mind that you're in "Daughter of Discord":raritywink::derpytongue2: Haha lol!:derpytongue2::pinkiehappy:

I have not read that story, but I did read a comic he created with his character Clutterstep. It's called "A Princess's Tears". Have u read it? It's on Silver Quill's deviantart account.

3485804 Indeed so. "A Dodgy Business" is actually the sequel to that comic and the prequel to the new one he's doing.

And no, I don't mind doing that sort of thing. Just don't make me play Fluttershy.

Or do. I guess I could do Flutterguy. :)
