It was an amazing sucker-punch, wasn't it? I mean, I had my suspicions about the girls' True Talents since Appleoosia's Most Wanted but I wasn't expecting them to make such a festival out of it. Then again, really, once we realised that this was probably going to be a Diamond Tiara redemption episode, it should have been obvious. After defeating their Nemesis, where else did the girls have left to go but to acknowledge the True Talent that gave them that victory?
Amy Keating Rogers seems determined to go out on a high note!

DT had to be redeemed before the CMC got their marks. If the CMC got their marks, and DT was not redeemed, she has in my opinion almost no function in the series anymore. DT was there only to show us how important the Cutie Marks are in the Pony-verse and to give the CMC a reason to form the CMC and crusade for their marks.
And like a said, if the CMC got their marks without DT redemption DT has almost no function in the series anymore. But the reverse is also true, if there was more time between DT redemption and CMC's mark-getting the pressure for the CMC to get their marks fast would disappear.
And maybe there will be a second episode wherein the CMC and DT have to work together. Maybe the CMC have to help DT in learning how to be nice cause she only knows how to be bitch. Or DT needs the help of the CMC to get Silver Spoons friendship back.

To be honest I think a bunch of us are a little disappointed that the CM's aren't in whatever talent we thought they had, like AB getting carpentry or whatever and Scoots getting scooting/flying or whatever
but still super proud of them and even though I was super hoping for scoots getting a CM in something relating to lightning, I'm still happy ya feel

Ugh, the obsession with spoilers on the internet is beginning to seriously grate on me more than any actual spoiler I've been on the receiving end has.
While the new episode didn't outright killed me it did however hit me right in the mind, soul and heart.
Even now I'm still emotionally shell shocked at the episode. This is really on par with Amending Fences and Friendship Games.
Since Amy Keaton Rogers wrote for the majority of season 5 before leaving I guess she wanted to go out with a bang.
Now I can't wait to see her final episode The Mane Attraction which features singer Lena Hall. Maybe it might surpass it. Who knows?
Also, I am usually a little put-off when the songs make up over half the dialogue, but that actually went pretty well.
Hmph, I say usually, but I think it was only really MMC.
Its so nice seeing you so excited by this, usually your blog are a bit too self-insult thingy, this blog though have none of the self-insult you usually make a habit of using. Its nice and I am glad that you can just temporarily forget about that.
This in turn, make THE Episode a bit more special to me than it actually is.
