Daniel Ingram, you magnificent bastard. · 10:32pm Oct 7th, 2015
The song playing during the ACADE(mic) DECA(thlon) during in The Friendship Games seems to my ear to feature an a-c-a-d-e d-e-c-a riff.
Okay, maybe I'm slow and this is old news to everyone but holy crap, Daniel. This is like that deceptive cadence thing all over again.
That's the first I've heard of it. Dang
Some people might think Daniel Ingram has too much fun. Personally, I think he has an exactly appropriate amount of fun.
I also like how he brought the "na-naa na-na na-naa" chant from the earlier songs back in "Unleash the Magic" as a Gregorian chant. That was a nice touch that really gave the soundtrack a touch of cohesion.
I wouldn't even have NOTICED if you hadn't said anything.
Mind you, my brief foray into music (playing the keyboard) is knocking on for a quarter-century ago.
That's glorious.
And terrible.
I love that he is sneaking jokes into the music.
I love you for pointing this out. I seriously need to send Ingram some cookies. The man is too clever.
Wow. Not the first time he's done something like this (remember the diminished cadence from "This Day Aria", I think it was?)
It's news to me. Fascinating news at that.
That's pretty cool.
Yep. I guessed it would be that, because the song's title was a bit too weird for it to be total coincidence that all the letters were also note names. Goes with the authentic/diminished cadences from the S2 finale, I suppose. Edit: as PP said earlier. I fail at reading.

Yep, and I ninja-edited my initial post to acknowledge that bit while you were posting yours!

Yep, I've always felt that the right amount of fun is "just enough that most people don't even realize you're having it."
I'm still convinced that he's hidden a sweet six-part ricercar somewhere in the show and I'm just not adept enough to pick it out.
INGRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMS!!!
*Shakes fist*
Ingrams, you magnificant bastard, I read your score! (snerk!)
That's so cute. I never noticed this either, so thanks for pointing it out.
Oh good catch! I hadn't picked up on this until you mentioned it! XD
3450878 Even better, it was a deceptive cadence.

Ah, thank you. I don't know music terms. :B
wow, what a find!
3452858 *false cadence / true cadence.
