Sunset's Homecoming

Well, at just about the 24-hour mark, Sunset's Overdue Paper has over 400 hits and a 93% upvote ratio.

So obviously most of you liked it. When I got up this afternoon, I did bow to some criticism and removed some of the lyrics to My Past Is Not Today, which in addition to The Fall of Sunset Shimmer served as the primary inspiration for this oneshot.

I'm just hoping there's something akin to that coming up in the Equestria Girls spin off.

Over half of "What More Is Out There" was cut, revealed in a deleted scene, where Sunset took half the song, and appears to miss her life in Equestria. I absolutely understand why they cut it; it would have made the film way too crowded, and would have probably robbed the attention away from the main plot of SciTwi and her magic pendant.

Seriously, another EG film entirely focused on Sunset and the choice of staying in the human world or returning to Equestria could be something phenomenal, if done right.

I've read spectacular short stories like Atonement, and artwork like what's above. I hope we see Sunset return home to make amends someday. I hope we see a canonically-updated flashback of The Fall of Sunset Shimmer (In the comic, we see Sunset with Twilight's five Canterlot friends, all considerably older than Twilight, who appears in the background as a young filly).

And to those who never want to see Sunset appear in the main series or 2017 movie for fear of the EG spinoff becoming canon, I say, piss off.

And also perhaps answer some of those remaining nagging questions, like where she lived when she first got there, and where her human counterpart is (my guess would be living in the human equivalent locale of where she was from before attending Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns).
