'The Sunshine Chronicles' Cancellation and Synopsis Part 2 · 1:49am Oct 4th, 2015
Continuing from last post:
As life goes on, Applejack begins to yearn for another child to make their family complete at last.
And on a starry night, Mandolin Moonlight -- "Mandy" -- is conceived.
But near her birthdate, Applejack nearly suffers a miscarriage. While their foal survives, Applejack narrowly lives through the experience, and even the doctors and Twilight herself calls it a Miracle.
Twilight pulls Rainbow Dash aside and confronts her about the amazing event that has just transpired, believing it confirms once and for all that Rainbow did indeed find the Well of Miracles after all. She had her suspicions in the beginning when she first learned of Applejack's mystical pregnancy, and never once believed she had been lucky enough to spot a shooting star. The release of the knowledge, however, dispels the miraculous essence, and Rainbow is no longer a source for the magical force -- its secrecy being conditional on the retention of its power.
Though saddened, Rainbow and Applejack continue to raise their two foals, unknowing of the destiny that awaits them.
As fillyhood and adolescence passes for the two sisters, Sunshine Delight sets eyes on the Wonderbolts, feeling it her purpose to follow in her papa's hoofsteps and -- hopefully -- surpass her. During flight practice with her "father", Sunshine manages to break the sound-light barrier, and sends a spiraling wave of heat and light out from her scorching body. Dubbing it the Sonic Zephyr, she believes it to be her key to entrance to the Wonderbolts as a Flight Leader. Unfortunately, however, her practice goes sour, and regardless of her efforts, Sunshine loses control every time she attempts the stunt.
Faced with the prospect of being admitted as a mere wingpony and admitting defeat -- both to herself, and to her papa -- Sunshine instead declares that she refuses to submit to her lot as a sub-par Wonderbolt and puts forth her request to create her own squadron. Her father grants her request, provided she can assemble her team and have them ready within two months. Fueled by determination, she sets out to find the baddest, boldest, best-flying rejects from the Wonderbolts ranks of recruits, and over the course of a month's time gathers three of the most potent fliers she has ever seen.
They are: Longshadow, the Former Lunar Guardspony, Warhawke, the Pacifistic Griffon, and Shift, the Changeling Defector. And born, is the greatest band of misfits in the Wonderbolts' illustrious history.
The Equestrian 392nd Irregulars; "Rascal Squadron".
Unfortunately, as their name implies, the team are band of mismatches. While trying to keep the ever-zealous and competitive Longshadow in line, stopping Warhawke from leaving this 'lost cause', and dealing with Shift's fears of performing, she comes to the realization that she never deserved the title of Flight Leader to begin with. After all, if she can't bring her awesome team together, then what worth is she to the team?
Returning home, Mandy gives her a cheering up, before the rest of her team arrives, willing (begrudgingly-so, in Longshadow's case) to set aside their problems and to give her a chance to make a team out of them. And, after a grueling regimen of training over the course of two weeks...
...they kick ass.
And they continue to kick ass... until the Changelings attack.
I hope that there will be a third part of this???
Hueeeeeee, finally.
