Mariusioannesp Speculates Wildly: Episodes 21-26 Finally Revealed! · 5:28am Oct 2nd, 2015

Greetings again, my Brony Brethren!

My, this has been a busy, busy week. Reviewing “Made in Manehattan” and Equestria Girls: Friendship Games took a lot out of me. But there is one last bit of very amateur reporting I must do. It has come to light that through a glitch on Netflix when using an old version of Internet Explorer the final titles and synopses for the final batch of episodes for Season 5 of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic have been revealed! You can check it out on Equestria Daily or right below.

First things first. This pretty much confirms that the rumored episode list was completely accurate. I know episodes 25 and 26 have the name of the season premiere probably because that’s what they were called in earlier drafts. From what I’m aware, the season premiere was supposed to be called “Cutie Mark-less” or something like that. I don’t doubt that the finale will still be called “The Cutie Remark.” You might also notice that the numbering here seems to follow the rumored episode list rather than the actual order they were aired or will be aired.

I already talked about Episodes 17 to 20. So let’s take a closer look at the final batch of episodes for Season 5.

Episode 15: Scare Master:

Determined to overcome her timidity and face her fears, Fluttershy decides to participate in the scary fun of Nightmare Night with her friends.

Episode 22: What About Discord?:

Twilight returns from a trip and is distressed to find that her friends have become close to Discord, making her wonder if Discord is up to something.

Episode 23: The Hooffields and McColts:

Princess Twilight and Fluttershy are called by the map to settle a dispute between two feuding families who can’t even remember why they are fighting.

Episode 24: The Mane Attraction:

An old friend of Applejack’s has become a huge pop star, but Applejack is worried that the singer’s manager does not have her best interests at heart.

Episode 25: The Cutie Map: Part 1:

Starlight Glimmer, hoping to obtain revenge against the Mane 6, acquires a spell that could change the past, present and future of Equestria forever.

Episode 26: The Cutie Map: Part 2:

Princess Twilight and her friends continue to fight against Starlight's attempts to alter the past, but they fear that their efforts may be in vain.

There are actually a few surprises here. I know “Scare Master” was leaked, but I’m not seeing it until it officially comes out. I had speculated that this might be the episode that introduces this brother that Fluttershy has according to the MLP SDCC panel. Based on the synopsis, it seems “Scare Master” could be really good or really not good. It sounds like this season’s token “Fluttershy deals with her issues but kind of not” episode. I’ll try to be optimistic mostly out of my love of Fluttershy. And if you know which one it is from having seen it, please do not tell me.

“What About Discord?” is kind of a surprise. I had pointed to John De Lancie’s interview with ILoveKimPossibleAlot as an indication that this title wasn’t accurate since he didn’t indicate that there would be another Discord episode this season. Now, we know there is. Awesome! You can never have too much Discord I always say. Seems like this episode will focus on Twilight and Discord again kind of like “Three’s A Crowd.” Twilight becomes suspicious of Discord after becoming friendlier with the rest of her friends. Even after all this time, Twilight still doesn’t trust Discord. Well, it’s not like he’s given her a lot of reason to.

In related Discord news, Equestria Daily has already revealed the airdate for “What About Discord?” as November 7th. Also, John de Lancie has also revealed that there are two new Discord scripts are coming down the pike. More than likely, he’s referring to Season 6 since everything for Season 5 should be done by now. So look forward to two Discord episodes in Season 6.

“The Hooffields and McColts” was quite a surprise. I had stated from the beginning my suspicions that this episode was an Applejack episode, perhaps even a second cutie map episode for her. Surprisingly enough, it’s actually Fluttershy and Twilight’s cutie map episode! Well, I can’t be right all the time. As suspected, it does involve feuding families. At least I was right about that. I also believe now that this is the episode that will feature this brother of Fluttershy that we were told of at the MLP SDCC panel. If you think about it, each cutie map episode features a character one of the ponies called already knows, like Gilda in “The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone” and Coco Pommel in “Made in Manehattan.” Though in this case, it could be a pony we’ve never met before. Could that mean that Fluttershy is actually related to one of these feuding families? That would be quite interesting. It could indicate this brother of hers is more decidedly aggressive than she is if he’s involved in a feud. I have speculated previously as to what angle they’d go for when it comes to Fluttershy’s brother’s personality. If that’s the case, they could be going for polar opposite.

As for “The Mane Attraction,” there’s not too many surprises there. I’ve speculated before that this episode might revolve around Applejack given she was crying in the “I Am Just A Pony” clip from the MLP SDCC panel. That is assuming that clip is from this episode, which it most likely is. I suspect this old friend of Applejack is the Lena Hall pony. The only new thing here is the fact that the conflict appears to stem from Applejack not feeling her friend’s manager doesn’t have her best interests at heart. It would be funny if that manager turns out to be a zebra named Zeb.

Zeb was the manager of the pony musician Knight Shade in the G1 MLP episode “Bright Lights.” He worked for a dark wizard named Arabus who used Knight Shade’s musical skills to steal people’s shadows. Now, I don’t think this episode will feature all of that. Featuring Zeb though would be just as big a callback as the Smooze in “Make New Friends But Keep Discord.”

With “The Cutie Remark,” there aren’t that many surprises. As suspected based on the MLP SDCC panel, it will involve Starlight Glimmer getting revenge through some time travel spell, presumably to alter the Mane 6’s destinies and cutie marks, and the Mane 6 will strive to fix it. The end of Friendship Games also seemed to hint at this as well.Beyond that, there’s no telling what will happen.

On a final note, let’s talk about the Cutie Mark Crusaders. I have recently voiced some doubts concerning when the CMC will get their cutie marks this season, something we all suspect will indeed happen. However, given that we now know what the rest of the episodes are about, it appears that the only upcoming episodes that will center on the CMC are “Brotherhooves Social” and “Crusaders of the Lost Mark.” I once again see “Crusaders of the Lost Mark” as the most likely episode where that will happen.

So these are my thoughts on the final batch of episodes of Season 5. What do you all think of what we have to look forward to as Season 5 comes to an end?

God bless you all. God bless America. And God bless Equestria.

I'm definitely excited! It looks like the rest of Season 5 is going to be very interesting.

I'm also refusing to watch Scare Masters until the episode airs. Definitely looking forward to the next Discord episode and the apparent two more that will be in Season 6. It's cool how John De Lancie keeps returning to play this character for us. Meeting Fluttershy's brother will definitely be interesting to see; especially if they're polar opposites. I'm also really looking forward to The Mane Attraction if only to see the completed version of that awesome song. And the finale is definitely looking up to being an interesting one. I'm always up for a story involving time travel shenanigans.
