Fic recs, May 20th: Project Get! #17!

Hey! :D Welcome back to Project Get!, where I sort my RIL by views and grab the last 10 on the list that aren't sequels, unfinished, or by the same author twice! I've been trying to do this a lot more frequently, but 'frequent' has not exactly described these blogs out of me, has it? D: I dunno if that could change in the near future. I've got outpatient surgery on Wednesday this week, so I'm

State of the Writer, April 2024!

    It's another boring one! I ain't wrote nothin'! :B

It actually feels lately like I've been crawling out of a pit? So maybe there's a light ahead? But it's also blocked by Balatro lol somepony save me D:

The only other thing relevant to this blog is that I've had notes for a vs. post sitting in my notes document for probably the entire month now, what is wrong with me? D:

Fic recs, April 22nd: Jordan179 edition

Once again, though a good bit late, I bring it upon myself to memorialize an author via reviews of their stories. Though this time, it's different, as I had no connection to Jordan179 and only learned of his passing (three years ago this month, coincidentally), from this post

Another post about video games and Youtube and stuff

If I'm going to waste time watching shit on Youtube, the least I can do is tell people about it. :P

Ceave is a crazy Austrian with a love of video games and a head for philosophizing about them. Plus he really, really hates coins, no matter how tasty they may look.

State of the Writer, September 2015 · 5:45pm Sep 30th, 2015

My state has gone quickly downhill. D: First, a reminder that I have a Patreon where you can help stave off my inevitably having to get a job and thus have no time for anything fanfic related, not to mention getting first (well, second) crack at any and all content I produce, with commentary and stuff! And like, prizes! Also, a reminder about this thing, which I swear I'll actually use if ever I have a moment where I go "Hmm, what should I write next?"

On that note, I have started four stories this month. Or at least it feels like I have. X.x There's a kind-of-but-not-really-romance songfic called Rare Bird that will chronicle Rainbow Dash's romantic feelings for her friends. Iron Savior Applejack (title still kind of up in the air) is an AU based on a dream that got retooled thanks to my recent delving into the Kamen Rider series. Expect tokusatsu pony. I've got a bug up my butt, no pun intended, about a Coco Pommel clopfic idea I'm either going to call Red Lipstick or And Here's to You, Mrs. Robinson (quite a difference those titles make!) that is going to be about as personal a writing as an anthro clopfic can possibly be. I also, and probably no one is going to give a damn about this, started rewriting Fallout Equestria: Aegis because I got a good notion of how to make it work with all the feedback I got years and years ago. I dunno how dedicated I am to making it happen before I start one of my other FoE ideas, though.

Of course, the big news is Epic Unicorn History. I'm sorry I couldn't get the chapter out this month, but I did finish the draft. My editor had some major suggestions that I am taking, which means lots of rewriting, and between the cold and my newfound computer troubles (seriously, it just happened last night for no reason), my work drive has severely tanked. Suffice to say, I'm feeling a little more confident about it being worth waiting for. I'm not as confident about being able to finish the story by the end of the year, but I am gonna try like hell.

Meanwhile, I did write two extremely stupid stories, Rainbow Dash Doesn't Know What Hooves Are, which has a shoutout to my other EQG shitfics, yet isn't related because Sunset Shimmer is not the straightman, and Speak, Butt and Enter which is no less stupid yet somehow better, if you ask me. :V

Currently, my goal is to finish Epic Loyalty and get it posted, which may take a while. Well, I mean, my actual goal is to get my computer working again while losing as little data as possible. D: It remains to be seen whether that will actually happen. ;_;

Yeah, thank god you have some unmentioned kind folk helping you out, huh?
I WONDER WHO THAT KINDFOLK MIGHT BE.

:trixieshiftleft:

I work full time and still write pone.
Your argument is invalid.
Just be honest and admit you don't want to work.:ajsmug:

I don't know, but I hear he has an adorable accent. :V

The last time I had a job, I put out three review journals in a month. I didn't write much, either.

And I don't want to work, not one bit. If I could get back the job that let me write a novel on the clock, I'd do it, but that place is long gone.

3432220 I hear ya. Win the lottery! Problem solved!

I JUST WATCHED FRIENDSHIP GAMES AND OH BOY DO I PLAN TO

Just Kiva. I'm almost done with it. I've never been a fan of the genre, and I don't think I could take any more of these series if they're not as fucking goofy as Kiva.

3433155 well Den O is the series that follows...and i can tell you that it is goofier. Most of the heisei riders do get a bit of goofiness thrown into their series, helps when they bring in the hard hitting feels later on

It's possible to write with a full time job. I do it. I'll set aside time to write, but it's slower than I'd prefer.

I don't just write, though. I do far too much than any one person should, all things considered. D: I don't like the idea of stopping.

3433526 Writing, reviews, audio recordings?

Plus music reviews and maintenance of an ever-burgeoning media library. And, theoretically, job searching, which is a job all in itself. :(

I'm rootin' for ya, big guy.
