Crashed my motorcycle today · 6:02pm Sep 27th, 2015
Simply, street construction sucks in general. More so when they don't repave the giant hole they put in the middle of a turn and instead just pack it with dirt. Consequently, when I came rolling through on my motorcycle, I lost control on the dirt patch and ate pavement. The bike isn't too badly damaged. I have a giant new dent in the tank, a broken mirror, new speedometer is cracked and warped, my handlebars are slightly askew, my gear shift is bent, my taillight cover is completely broken and it now has a bunch of new scratches. As for myself, my left knee hurts like hell from where the bike landed on it and my hip is sore. Past that I'm okay. just a little scraped up and pissed off. I estimate about $1000 of total repair costs if I don't do it myself, most of it being labor.
Lesson of the day: Be careful kids and watch the turns. It doesn't matter how slow or fast you go, if you get into the dirt and gravel, you're going to drop the bike.
