Writing Streams · 2:23am Sep 22nd, 2015
Soooo on the off chance I manage to figure out how to stabilize my internet upload speed, would anyone be interested in seeing me stream writing on Picarto or something? Just whatever I'm writing at the time, playing some music, talking in the chat, that sort of thing. Nothing fancy, but some of you might find it interesting.
This is an idea I've been toying with for a while, but I've been hesitant for several reasons. Wondering if I'd be comfortable writing in front of people, concerns about my crappy internet, and most of all if it'd be boring.
I'm still not sure on the last one, but I have learned that the stream should work fine as long as I can keep my upload speed steady, even if the actual speed will be somewhere between "potato" and "fuckall." There'd be a massive time lag, but as long as it runs smoothly and I restart every so often it should function decently.
Though, I'm still open to suggestions on how to make it interesting. I've thought about offering stream requests sometimes, something in the region of a thousand words or so (which would take me 40-60 minutes to write). Maybe even some small in-stream commissions or something.
Who knows? I'm just wondering if anyone would even be interested. And if anyone happens to know how I might be able to lock my upload speed at the lowest common denominator (it jumps around a lot, which makes streams choppy.) If I manage to get that out of the way, it'll open up some options.
you could just use google docs for live writing...

I could, but I would prefer to use Picarto because of the layout and such. More functional chat, ability to set names, etc.
Will there be booze and will I be allowed to be silly?

Sometimes and yes.
I always thought the idea of writing in front of others to be odd. It really isn't like drawing, where you can see a good portion of the thought process come to life, so I never thought it would have the same appeal to stream it.
However, that request idea actually sounds like fun. I'd definitely stop by for that.

*Explodes in a shower of confetti and silly string*
I've done a few of them, and they were always tons of fun, even with a few technical issues. I'm super extroverted and able to babble endlessly, so that certainly helps. I'd bet a lot of your watchers would love to see you work.

Yeah I can already imagine the blog. "Come hang and watch me write requests, listen to metal, and battle inadequate hardware and terrible internet!"

Well, yeah, but you forgot the part where you promise horse dicks.

In slightly blurry form.
