It's been almost a year since my last update, and just over a year since I had my head smashed in like a watermelon.

Why I Haven't Updated Recently - In Bullet Points

    - Moved out
    - Thought I had enough money to cover rent
    - Didn't, because the Student Loan Company are a bunch of retards and pay the largest installment AFTER I finish my tenancy agreement
    - Had to take up whatever job I could find (no experience)
    - Only job I could find is in a night club
    - Only working night shifts, 5 nights a week

University Tomorrow · 10:35pm Sep 21st, 2015

So yeah, I start university tomorrow. Mixed feelings, but hopefully I'll have a lot of free time (so I can finish this damn chapter, among other things).

Between breaking the ice with my peers, attending student events and nights out, and learning the layout of the city, I suppose I'll be quite busy this week, either way.

Most promisingly, studying at university level will hopefully allow me to surround myself with those that possess a similar attitude to - and aptitude for - learning.

Modesty out of the window for a moment, being a relatively intelligent young man in a small town branded a 'deprived area' by the government and being surrounded by a mass of students only there for the sake of it, many of whom were only concerned with when they could next get a pint was... grating.

Christ, I feel like I'm becoming more and more like this guy with every passing day.

Regardless, I'm looking forwards to delving deeper into the more complex workings of the human psyche, despite the inevitable horrors and wonders I'll undoubtedly find therein.

- Mike, proudly studying BSc (Hons) Psychology
