Hello, everyone. Not to put a damper on things, but I think there's a problem here that definitely requires a Blog Post about it.
As you know, I wrote Turmoil Wears Taffeta for the Writer's Training Grounds for Equestria Daily, and wanted to put it out there before it went up so you could be able to get an advanced screening of it. But unfortunately, it seems that there have only been seven upvotes, only one comment, and under a hundred likes. This has generally never happened on one of my stories before.
Not to beg or plead you for anything, but just this once, I highly advise sharing the story with all of your friends and followers. Please? This could be a great step up for me in the writing world of you would all lend a few helping hooves...
Don't be shy to tell them. Just say what you thought of the story to your people/ponies, and leave them a link so that they can check it out themselves.
I want to overcome this obstacle, but I'm not sure I will without your support...
After all, as Shia LaBeouf would say:
I haven't read the story yet (and can't say for sure when I will, perhaps Friday, when I make my "Catching up with fics Day"), but I want to tell you to not to worry too much about the success of the fic.
Not every story gets as well received as another. Many people judge stories subjectively so, just because a fic by you doesn't get so much attention like you want it to have or like you're used to, does not mean that it's a problem with the story.
Sometimes it just doesn't go well with the readers who saw it.
Also, by now you already have almost 100 views and once it's up on Equestria Daily, the views will increase.
There's no reason to be nervous.
