Bluespectre

All these moments will be lost, like tears in the rain.

  • TWhen The Snow Melts
In the forest of bamboo, the first snows of winter have begun to fall. A white blanket begins to cover the quiet hills the reed worker calls home. His quiet and peaceful life is changed forever by the discovery of a stranger in the snow.

    Story update and other stuff

Believe it or not I've actually started a new job at long last. I'd only planned on staying with my last employer six months, but ended up being stuck there for nearly five years. During my time there I had to put up with some of the worst bigotry I've ever encountered, despite the company claiming to be 'inclusive, supportive of diversity, etc'. Spoiler alert : They weren't!

    Story Update

Now on page 280 of Bon Bon's story. Looking good so far, but quite a technical challenge as she's been involved in other parts of the Fairlight story arc and I need to be careful tying it all together. I'm also aware that I will need to incorporate Lyra's story into it too.

    Continuing on

Despite one of the readers claiming that they had felt like vomiting after reading my last story, I have pressed on with my scribblings. Apparently eliciting a physical and -or- an emotional response from a story is considered a good thing. Or so I'm told.

Ice Fall · 6:34am Sep 15th, 2015

Ice Fall is the follow on from When the Snow Melts. Although WTSM was written as a spin off from the Fairlight books, i've been asked if there will be a follow on. I don't want to spoil WTSM by expanding too much on the relationship between Rush and Tia any more than i already have as i like to leave some thing to the readers imagination. However, there will be a cameo role in book 5 of Fairlight for Rush and Celestia.

Ice Fall is a story based around the war in Equestria between the forces of Nightmare Moon and Celestia. It's centered predominantly around two ponies in particular, Chalk Dust and Bracken, a couple of soldiers from the Celestian army. The story opens with the two hapless and rather reluctant stallions struggling through the mountains after being sent off by their commander as part of the quest to find Starswirl the Bearded.

On their adventure, the two recall the events that lead up to them meeting, becoming friends and joining the army in time for the disastrous battle at River Valley. Introducing more characters such as Celestian leader Colonel Dray (Who appears in WTSM) and the thestral commander, Colonel Fulminata, different perspectives are given on the war and how it unfurled. I intend for the story to take the reader through the return of the princess to Equestria, the events leading up to and including the massacre at the mountain pass, ending with the banishment of Nightmare Moon and the return of Rush.

I have a slightly different take on Nightmare Moon than is commonly seen, exploring not so much how she became to be, but rather focussing on the emotional turmoil she is experiencing and how she interacts with those around her.

Up to page 61 currently.

Hope it turns out ok!
