Believe it or not, I actually got some chores done today.

And that's saying something, because if Diablo IV was this good at any point last year, it would have definitely been near the top of my Best Games of 2023. You know, instead of being omitted entirely.

So let's just say that Armored Core VI absolutely just got smacked out of the running for Best Yesteryear Game.

    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

What Are Your Thoughts On Pokemon GO? · 2:04am Sep 11th, 2015

So probably the biggest news in the gaming industry this week is the revealing of Pokemon GO, an alternate reality game set in the Pokemon universe. It's being developed by Niantic, known for their GPS-enabled alternate reality game, Ingress.

As a fledgling Level 6 Ingress player, I figured Niantic had to have something up their sleeve when they announced their splitting from Google.

Am I intrigued? Yes, absolutely, but I'm also not completely letting go of my pessimism.

Ingress is fun for me because A. It gets me out of the house, B. There's no win conditions, and C. Local battles can get pretty heated.

I'm currently concerned that depending on how similar the two games are, I'd have to go halfway across the state (or region) to get a Legendary Pokemon.

I'm one of those "old coots". You know, the ones in their late 20's who looks nostalgically back to the time where there were only 151 Pokemon. The last Pokemon game I played was FireRed, and just like different versions had exclusive Pokemon, my main concern is different regions of the world are going to have exclusives as well, and that's going to prove frustrating for completionists.

Regardless, I am interested, and that's coming from someone who isn't really into mobile gaming. The only game I play on my Tab 4 is Ingress.

What are your thoughts? What are you looking forward to most, and what are your concerns?

I'm definitely interested, but I had the same thought as you about the regional exclusivity. Having to go across the world to get a legendary would be a little over the top. Even so, it definitely sounds like fun.
