School. While it is nice to go and learn new things, make new friends, and wait for a number of holidays to roll around, it is a pain in the ass for a writer to work around.
I'm still writing Curse of a Well-Read Man, don't get me wrong. It's going at a snail's pace because I'm busy working around the landmines of college life.
Spending all of Tuesday and Thursday at the college, attending lectures. Working the lunch shift on Wednesdays and the weekends. Attending two separate, solitary labs for the Tues/Thurs classes as well...okay, those days aren't as hectic, but I have homework to contend with on those days.
To my readers, and my editor, please bear with me. I may try to tide you over with some one-shots, but that's still up in the air. At the barest minimum, I want to finish the Obamaverse crossover - and perhaps a few side-chapters - as well as the Christmas Beacon. I'm roughly 1/3rds done with the former, as I'm fleshing out what I've set on doing, and the latter bits of content are in varying stages of development. For instance, the Christmas Beacon's basic story is mapped out, but I'm tinkering with some puzzle ideas. I may or may not open it up to some Displaced, depending on how much time I have after publishing the final Obamaverse cross-chapter, and another thing I'm keeping tightly under wraps.
Best of luck (and some god knows I need it),
