Why I Don't Write Here Anymore

I suppose it's been on my mind for a long time, but it never really occurred to me until recently. And because a few of you have been waiting for some projects I promised I'd finished, you deserve to know, as well.

    This exists . . .

This is a thing that exists. This was made with effort, and money.

And Hasbro actually put their name on this.

    . . .

    . . .

    . . .

I'm gonna step away from this one.

My good friend needs some support

You all probably know HudsonHawk, especially if you know me. Even though I've never met the man in person, he's my best friend on this site, on the internet, and probably ever.

    Embarking on a new venture

Recently I discovered a site for content creators called Daisie. It allows people to post their work and ask for collaborators, and it was created by actress Maisie Williams, whom many of you might know as Arya Stark from Game of Thrones.

Help Wanted: reviewers, review readers, and counselors · 4:13pm Sep 5th, 2015

We at the Angry Review Recovery Group hope to change the face of reviews on FIMfiction. It seems as though readers, writers and critics believe that there are only two kinds of reviews: harsh, cruel and unforgiving kinds that deter and discourage growth, and overly nice, "pat-on-the-head" kinds that ignore the author's mistakes. We wish to meet in the middle, and provide honest reviews that point out flaws, provide advice on how to fix them, highlight the positives, and encourage growth, self-esteem and confidence.

Currently, the group is overwhelmingly understaffed. We are currently searching for more reviewers to deliver honest, yet encouraging reviews, review readers for those who have been hit hard by badfic review groups, and counselors for those whose bad reviews have hurt them and discouraged them from writing.

We are not a hugbox. While we do encourage writers to keep trying, we do not ignore the flaws. We will point them out and provide ways to improve. We are not Rage Reviews. You will not be the butt of any jokes or the target of any anger, and neither will your stories. We will tell you what you did right, help you with what you did wrong, and make sure you will want to keep writing when it's all said and done.

If you're interested, apply at the appropriate application threads:

ANGRY REVIEW RECOVERY GROUP

If you need a place to go for help that won't treat you badly, or if you feel bad about a review, we can help.

I read reviews sometimes because well I'm a writer

3371198 Great! Feel free to join up anytime! :pinkiehappy:

If you'd like, I'll help edit any fic, though it'll mostly be limited to grammar. Some story points I may question, but I won't ask to change because the fic belongs to the writer.

Of course, some of my honest comments may be blunt, but I do my best to have some humor in my hard and honest truths. I help edit someone's fic and he's a good sport in his humor when I throw some snarky comments on his "inadequacies." This is only a heads-up to those who would like to have me as an editor; be prepared for some hard, honest, and snarky comments.:scootangel:

3372201 Nah, no editing necessary. All I'm asking for is people who are willing to review, read reviews, and offer advice to those hurting after a bad review. I suppose I could offer an editing/proofreading service, but not until there are more members. Plus, there are other groups for that.

All I ask is that you maintain honesty, fairness and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout. Even the most well-intended humor can be misinterpreted by someone in a sad place. If you can do that, then by all means, take a look at the group, join if you like, and apply for whatever position you might like. Thanks for looking it over.

3370873 And we'd be glad to review for you! Join up and add whichever stories you'd like to the folders.
