We all know that word. "tier". It's like a placement of good and bad. Though, I should inform you that's not the case. Any low tier character can beat a high tier character. It's just a little harder. Or a lot harder. I believe there to be a few underdogs, though. Characters with potential that has yet to be released or just isn't noted of. Here's my top 5 Smash Underdogs.

Poor ol' Meta Knight's been ignored ever since release because he was nerfed to the ground. To many people, that would mean he's bottom tier garbage, when in fact, many of his moves win against the best of characters such as Yoshi, Sheik, and Captain Falcon. The thing is, yes he was nerfed heavily from Brawl, but he was so OP in Brawl that the huge nerf bumped him down to a better than average character, and not a lot of people realize that. Nerf is a term shot around as a "lightning to the plane" or a sudden drop to shitville, when it's all about balance, and I've seen some Meta Knights do some crazy things. Meta Knight is seriously an underdog.

If you're familiar with Brawl at all, you know Ganondorf is a complete assbag of a character. This is the worst a character has ever been in Smash, and he was just awful. That said, when his "Captain Falcondorf" moveset carried into 4 with a recovery not too far from a shadow fart that gains him 2 meters, we just wrote him off as "ah he's bad again". However, most of his moves, his frame data, and his recovery were enhanced. The ledge mechanics made Ganon get back much easier, even if he is easy to gimp (expose recovery), and his kill power is unreal. He literally kills Bowser with a forward smash attack at like 80%. BOWSER. Ganon is one huge powerhouse, and it's sad to see people dismiss him because his moveset is like Brawl's.

What do I even say about Palutena? She's awkward, has little to no kill power, her moves are clunky, and she's just... weird. What's even weirder is her odd movepool is good against some of the big guns of Smash 4. They don't "clank" with other moves and all around she can prove to be a challenge to deal with. I dunno man, Palutena is... good but awkward, I'd like to say.

Charizard got a bad start. He was immediately canned as "worst in the game" by so many in every country, and for some he still is. In reality, though, over the past year the Zard has got nothing but buffed buffed buffed, and while he's nowhere near perfection (his lag time is unreal high), he is powerful enough to handle some of the big guns like Captain Falcon and Fox. If you like playing as Charizard, keep playing him, because he just keeps getting better and better. Maybe soon we'll see some good tournament results from the big guy.

Wario is my current main. He's got everything: kill moves, great recovery, originality, fun, amazing mobility, and he rides a goddang motorcycle and one of his taunts is that he shakes his butt at you. Everything to like about a character is there, so... why do people knock him off as mediocre? You're expecting a reason, but I seriously don't get it. He's competed with big names and won. He's high tier over in Japan. He has some crazy tricks that make him super deadly. I seriously don't understand. Why do people just knock him off? That's the sole reason why he's Smash 4's #1 underdog.

Fuck the tier system. Some of my favorite, best fighting game characters are considered bottom tier! (Phoenix Wright, Ryu, Lobo, Zatana)
Ganondorf will always be the King of Disrespect in Smash. That's why he's so fun to use.
Wario is also an underrated character, probably one of the more fun ones to use, and Charizard will never be the worst character in Smash again now that Mewtwo is around. I mean, it was as though Sakurai purposefully tried to make him as unusable and terrible as possible.
At least my main, Kirby, is good this time around. Dem combos.
3361171 Kirby's an alright character. I do wish they made his main ability, inhale, a little easier to get the opponent but I digress that Kirby has great combos and is a solid character.
Also poor Mewtwo. rip in hurtbox
3361171 ALTHOUGH I say the worst character in the game by far is not Mewtwo because he has some combos. Samus, on the other hand, is just downright awful. No tourney data, poor frame data, laggy moves, weak moves, and she's a heavy weight floater with a large hurtbox and a piss poor and predictable roll. Samus is just HORRIBLE

Samus is completely unfinished. Every one of her moves doesn't work in some way shape or form. That's just sad.
As for Zelda, she's finished but she's about as easy to handle as a pufferfish made of aluminum foil. They need to redo her everything. Although I do like her Up-B Elevator KO setup
3361313 I find Mewtwo to be a character that takes a specific type of person to to use. I can't play him for crap (Ganon, Ike and Lucas are my main men) but my 11 year old cousin, who is much worse at the game than I am, plays Mewtwo better than any other character, and can often beat me with him when I play other characters I'm not as good at.
3361422 Mewtwo takes the type of person that a character like Pikachu or G&W takes. Someone who's patient, understands the character's differences from the rest of the casts and puts them to extreme use.

Mewtwo: He's bad, but not unusable. Mewtwo is just like he was in Melee, and that's not good, but that's not bad. I enjoy his voice and movepool and if they just added some weight to him and gave him more kill power, he'd be solid fore sure.
Lucas: Lucas is back and he is a great character. Not flawless, not cheap. He's like Ness if Ness wasn't completely god dang obnoxious. I'd main him but I play too many characters already. Gotta stick with Dorf and Wario. I'd recommend Lucas>Ness any day.
Ryu: The realm of unexplored potential. I believe the community doesn't have enough information to judge Ryu yet based on matchups. He's just too weird to get a grip off immediately. So far he looks solid, but you really gotta know what you're doing.
Roy: The boy is back, and he just made Lucina completely obsolete. Lucina was another option to Marth, but now Marth is another option to Roy, because he's just so much better than Marth. Lucina, because of Roy, has no place anymore, and the only people that main her are Awakening fanboys, weeaboos, or really bored. I like our boy, Roy, and I'm glad he and his OP F-smash are here.

I recently went to this little Smash tournament and holy crap did I get to see somebody play Charizard. I never realized how amazing his aerials are now. His Charizard tore people up, all the way until he met the future winner of the tournament, a Mario main.
And I agree that Wario is amazing. He was amazing in Brawl and he still is, but even now, I'm still miffed at his f-smash change. The bike buff probably should override that, though, because the bike is so insane.
Also, I'm here on this blog after who knows how long!
3364428 Charizard's main kill move is his Up-B, and while that may sound troublesome, it has super armor, like half on his moves, and it's an out of shield option, which is scary. Charizard can be a monster.
