I've been coalescing the idea for my own take on MLP: FiM and it's various quirks and universe features, and made my own particular cast to drop into the middle of Equestria to play off of everything. Now is the time for me to actually get a story going around it. As per my usual modus operandi, seeing as I don't usually like starting a story in the knowledge that it's incomplete, I won't be making this upcoming story public until it's actually done, but what I can reveal for now is that I've already got a general idea of what the concept behind the plot should be, and I've already spent this evening on a short prologue, plus the opening to the first chapter.
Incidentally, this story does involve the eponymous Pepperjack character you see in my profile image. And in case that causes an air of cynicism and naysaying, yes, I have planned around the expected cynicism that comes from sharing a pen name with one particular OC, and trust me - amongst this particular cast of characters, I will say up front that Pepperjack might be a slight author avatar, but definitely not a strong, capable character who embodies the positive traits I see in me (besides, self-deprecation is funnier), and DEFINITELY not the narrative focal point. Trust me, I know the kind of route and unfortunate implications of doing otherwise in fanfiction. Hell, the basic concept I have for this is, "what if there was this alternate version of the Mane 6 that, rather than embodying positive traits in the form of elements, they embodied negative traits?". I always found the idea rather funny, and decided to add the idea that said cast is very reluctant to take on such a task as element-bearers, so I feel that and the various personality quirks I have in mind will form whatever comedy I can come up with. Will it be good? I'll see eventually. But for now, know that I do have a pet project in the works as of today.
