Possible LBS Sequel(s)? · 4:27am Aug 21st, 2015
So, I was scrolling through my stories, checking statistics and etc, when I noticed that Love Beats Stupid has just passed 100 thumbs-ups. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I think that's cause for celebration. That makes me excited, because that means 100 people liked my story! I don't even know a hundred people in real life! That's a big deal to me. It got me thinking: Could I do more with this story?
I mean, to a degree, I already have. Some of you may have noticed that Sweetie Belle Sucks At Video Games occurs in the same universe as LBS, but I mean something really more. Something that has already been requested, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to do or not. The wedding.
Alternatively, I could do a collection of shorts that follows Adagio's search for love throughout the course of LBS (you guys seemed to like the Adagio BONUS CHAPTERS, this would be similar). I can certainly see myself doing something like that, and I'm sure it'll be both fun to work on and to read, for you guys. Now, why the inquisitive tone of the blog title? Because I want to know if there's actually anyone who want to see either of those. I'm probably going to go through with the former anyway, just because I hate loose strings, but what about an Adagio spin-off? You guys want something like that? Or, if there's something else LBS you'd like to see, feel free to drop it in the comments.
Thank you to all the people who read and enjoyed LBS. I'm very proud of it, and you guys who have supported it have given me the confidence to keep this writing thing going. I am eternally grateful.
I loved LBS ( and I swear I'm going to comment more in-depth soon) so sequel would be amazing. Would you have a fun pattern for your chapter titles?
Adagio spin-off would be adorable! But if you don't have a big thing planned out, maybe consider keeping those bonus chapters as a thing to break up the sequel (read: give yourself a break from your writing with a random fun bit!) without burdening yourself with a search for her total resolution.

And yes to the Adagio sequel too! Although...that might depend on who she ends up with, if anyone, and the build-up to how she gets to that point. Can't leave poor Dagi all alone!

I don't have a big thing yet, so perhaps you're right in thinking Adagio's should remain in Bonus Chapters.
I haven't thought of what it'll be yet, but you better believe I'll be following a naming convention at least as dumb as "X Beats Y"

3336429 One shot would be cute too! Please, don't let us bully you into writing more than you feel like - that's where uninspired subpar writing comes from. Fun things should be fun!
I can see the title transcending "X Beats Y" into "X Conquers Y" or something like that. I just didn't think the wedding would go so smoothly and seamlessly to not warrant a couple chapters. Personally, having only a wedding scene doesn't appeal too much to my aromantic side 'cause I've only started to tentatively believe in marriage. but that's my hang up.
3336722 Trust and believe, if I don't feel it, it won't happen. That's a mistake I'm not willing to make again. Still, after thinking on it, there are some things I can do with it, some fun to have. It'll likely be shorter than the original, but now I can't see it as anything but multichapter.
X Conquers Y is an awesome naming convention, and I will most likely be using that. Freaking amazing
