Music Promo Post #6: Miami Nights 1984 - Turbulence. · 3:31am Aug 20th, 2015
Time for more music. This time we're switching back to futuresynth, which has been one of my preferred styles as of late (along with chiptune, drone, and dreampop). This album is a fun, cool example of what futuresynth is all about, both in terms of sound and visuals.
This makes me nostalgic. Hearing it is like weaving a dream in to reality. Thinking that this cool, sleek futureworld that some of us dreamed of as kids could somehow, in some form, come true. It captures so much of what I love about the music and aesthetics of this particular cultural moment. Or set of moments. Both the current one in which this stuff is seeing a revival, and the original moment on which it is based. Synthpop will always be one of my great musical loves. A friend of mine recently remarked that the early 2010's have been good to those of us whose taste lies in this direction.
Anyway, here is their bandcamp page, should you like their stuff.
