Profunda Timore Millennio · 4:08am Aug 16th, 2015

The clock ticks away the minutes, blurring into hours then eventually becoming days and into weeks. The library became thicker and the halls grew bigger. in a gloomy corner of the library sits the hall of darkness, Profunda Timore. A hall dedicated to genres that harbor dark themes such as death or insanity. The hall ponders on the meaning of fear and pain. To me it is a okay thing to be afraid from time to time. It keeps you on your toes and pain reminds you that you re still alive. Like the Crossover section, Profunda Timore recently exceeded the one thousand mark and is currently resting at 1317 tomes. So as I've done before I'll share ten stories that I deem interesting and well written. As I end this I shall give out a warning that these stories may have disturbing content so viewer discretion is advised.

I am a fan of stories that hold resemblance to classics such as Dante inferno. This story gives a well detailed regarding the horror of well and expressing that emotion. It shows the strength of perseverance when Twilight pushes through the seven circles and back to the living. Despite being in a squeal it does a good job standing on it's own, however that is just my opinion.

I am a sucker for lovecraftian stories. I've enjoyed a lot of H. P. Lovecraft stories such as At the Mountain of Madness or The Call of Cthulhu. This story reflects H. P. Lovecraft elements such as the prose well and i enjoy reading it again and again.

Kaidan is known to make dark stories such as Twilight's Dollhouse and Carnage & Murder Crew. A Puppet to Her Fame is a interesting tale regarding the philosophy of destinies and music. It has a bit of an lovecraftian style to it which i enjoyed greatly. However the overall story is a little dry regarding it's contents, regardless it is a good read.

Another story written by Kaidan, reason I like this is it's use of Latin. A language that I do not find a lot of in fan fiction. While it is short and cancelled it is a decent horror story.

I am a fan of war speeches and rallies. Such as Hannibal addressing his soldiers after crossing the Alps, St. Bernard rallying the troops before the Second Crusade, and other speeches throughout history. While short the story delivered the message well and it gave me a new outlook on King Sombra.

Being an anthology it is somewhat difficult to judge a story as a whole, as the mood could hardly be expected to remain consistent. Here the mood is roughly the same throughout. It reminds me of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark that I've read when I was a child so I give it points for that. The general theme is demonic possession so it might not be everyone cup of tea.

Another lovecraftian themed novel. This time it's about Twilight descent into madness as she study forbidden knowledge. The cosmic horror is really well done and it draws me back to read and read again.

A bit of Nyarlathotep, and King in Yellow wrapped up in an lovecraftian theme. It is a chilling short story and it is a great homage to the Lovecraft genre.

A bit on the lighter side of existential horror, it is a short fun read and it certainly became my new headcanon for the reasons of Pinkie Pie quirks.

What can I say, I love Lovecraft. This is a bit lighter as the world is saved and some ponies have mostly recovered by eldritch induce insanity. Regardless it is a fun read.
