Back from bronycon and recovering. Bunked with two good friends (Oldenbrony and Malwinters) and met at least a dozen people I’m looking forward to keeping in touch with. Also bumped into a few cool people from last year. Can confirm that Friendship is most likely Magic.
Friendship is not, apparently, a wonder vaccine or panacea. I had about a day to recover from stiff joins and bone pain before con crud set in. It has been followed by regular crud. In keeping up with farm stuff (I might post some updates about that to explain my absence) I haven’t even unpacked yet.
As soon as I get things under control here, I’ll be following up on this post with more info (yes, including ViM info) as well as reaching out to everyone who shared contact info with me at the convention. I just...need a little bit more time.
Also the not sick. That would be nice.
As a hold over, I point the metaphorical finger of polite indication at two fictions: Memoirs of a Royal Guard and Secrets of a Royal Guard. I read the first in it’s entirety on the return bus trip from Baltimore, and found it easy to enjoy. Expect lots of slice of life stuff within the daily grind of wearing a uniform with regular princess goodness and the occasional bouts of sheer terror. I’ve never met the author, but from his works I think I like the cut of his jib.
TLDR; Bronycon is friendship is magic is sick. Ain’t forgotten people. ViM related news SoonTM. Read these.
I had no idea you were going until after the fact. I was sad not to bump into you in Quills and Sofas.
Either way, I hope you had a fantastic time, and please get well soon! I avoided con crud this year in part to starting to drink lemon water daily (one freshly juiced lemon at home per glass).
Hello! I just saw this post...not sure why it didn't come through on my updates when you posted it. I 'll check on that. Hope you're feeling better. Mal wrote a few days ago and he was under the weather as well. I managed to emerge unscathed by the crud. I credit good company Con and the Magic of Friendship!
Much has been going on here. Will fill you in when things settle a bit. May be looking for better living conditions. The final straw was when my involvement with MLP: FiM was insulted; not the first time either. Just really......urghhh!
I'm working on my story, though I don't know how it will compare with 'Lullabies Unsung'. My story is a whole different take so hopefully there won't be any confusion. If you're interested, I'll try to send you the first of what I have in a few weeks.
Anyhow, hope you are better! I truly had the best time ever with you and Mal. I looking forward to July! Thanks for being so great. Please be safe and be well.
