The bane of all authors. · 12:03am Aug 1st, 2012

I have been attacked and injured by every author's worst enemy:

Writer's block.

Been suffering from a lack of inspiration and enthusiasm for a while now, even chapter 18 of "Wings of Tomorrow ~ Lament of the World" was very hard to finish. Now, however, it is even worse. I've been attempting to start working on chapter 19 for a whole week now, but everything my fingers type gets erased again because I'm not satisfied with it. I'm out of inspiration for the next chapter: writer's block got me.

Do not mistake my lack of ideas for chapter 19 as a lack of ideas for my story itself, I know perfectly where I want to take "Lament of the World" and its general plotline. We're close to a major step up in action, as well as some big revelations and answers to some of the mysteries that I've brought up. However, to get to that point, I first need to get my mane six there as well, which is what chapter 19 is for. And that just happens to be the problem.

I have no idea how long this writer's block will last or how to get rid of it. I'll let my readers know as soon as I do.

Until then, just keep your fingers crossed.

Random piece of advice: the best thing you can do is just try to push through it and get to a part of the writting you really enjoy (for me, for instance, it's dialogues).
I dunno, it's just that even when I sometimes feel that what I write down isn't optimal, when I get over the block and read back on it, I realize it's not all that bad and at that point, I have the inspiration to bring the necessary changes to actually make it very good.
There's a lot to be said about going through moments of intense reverie. Like, yannow, sitting in the bus and looking through the window and all that good stuff. That's typically one of my big inspirational moments. Some of my best pieces of writting have been born during times like those, heh.

In any case, good luck with getting through it one way or another! ;)
