Looking Back Through Time · 4:42pm Aug 10th, 2015
So, I experienced a new kind of experience today. I looked through a lot of my oldest blog posts (circa, 2012) and realised... I have a strange voice... you know, as a writer.
I'm not particularly good at sentiment (which I already knew, as this is a regular occurrence) and I like to cover up any attempt at it with jokes, particularly jokes targeting myself.
As usual, I'm very, very self-deprecating, and again I tend to do this through jokes (I don't know why. I'm not that funny).
I genuinely enjoyed writing pastiches (still do when I get the chance) and genuinely enjoyed putting myself through to people as a positive, optimistic person (which couldn't be far from true in real life).
I'm also a lot more confident... oddly. In real life, although I've been told not many people notice or mind that I'm generally more thoughtful than talk-y, I feel rude because I'm not very good at speaking and I think my mind and mouth are no longer connected.
And strangely (well for me, at least) I don't hate who I am in the past. It's just the present me that sucks (future me will probably too, don't get me wrong).
But most importantly what I've learnt reading backwards is that I owe a lot to a lot of people who were always there for me on this site, and even though I'm not often on here anymore (and I barely ever go on Skype either) I'm proud of the person I was when I was around you and proud to have known you.
Quite good for a show about ponies, huh?
UPDATE: Be on the look out for a trailer coming out on August 25th 2015, entitled Pony Profiles. Dis and Star shall be reviewing the characterisation of the characters we all love in a, hopefully, entertaining way. Why? Because shameless plugging for people is shameless.

For a show about ponies? Yeah. It is.
Five years of this fandom and we've had our ups and downs, but we've pulled through.
At least i've been a brony for 5 years but it feels great to interact with you and others like you.
3309520 If I had to say how long I've been a fan of the show (well, I could say many, many years since I watched the original generations a couple of years before this one), but probably four years.
And, yes, it's great to speak to people. I always enjoy it.
3311508 Haha. Hi, Cid. How're you doing?
3313544 Okay.
