    Words in print

Recently, I've been asked for permission by Avonder to include Whom The Princesses Would Destroy... in a story anthology he's putting together. I'm not one for hoarding words and I gave it quite, quite gladly.

    You'll find it here.

    Now(TM) with Travel Advice

I'm safely ensconced in my hotel room in Ludwigsburg. Hope to meet at least some of you. To increase the odds of this happening, I offer the following advice:

    Soon(TM)

I will be flying to Galacon 2018 in under twelve hours and I expect I will be safely in Ludwigsburg within 24 hours. I will be hard to contact during this period, though I think I've acquired a method of fool-proof Internet access no matter where I am (aside from six miles straight up, of course).

Hope to see many of you soon!

    Happy July 20th!

...or July 21st, depending on your timezone.

49 years ago the first manned Moon landing was accomplished. It is one of my favorite moments in history (To learn about my favorite you may have to wait for December the 9th), and to celebrate I've re-edited Hoofprints to be a little less... ah, draft-y.

AMAZING THING GRAND FINALE · 9:46pm Aug 7th, 2015

It's finally here! The very final episode of Scribbler's utterly magnificent reading of Whom The Princesses Would Destroy... All of you who waited for the whole thing before indulging: now's your chance. It's all here and it is all wonderful, delicious, and deliciously wonderful.

Observations:
1. A very annoyed Golden Dawn[1].
2. I am a big fan of Greg F's delivery as calmly insane Dotted Line.
3. Pruning shears were out in force for this one. Whole chunks of dialogue are gone. Admittedly I was always most unhappy with this last chapter. I see Scribbler thinks the same way. Probably could have used some more editing, on reflection.
4. A brief (my fault, that's as many lines as I wrote) but very agreeable Twilight Sparkle.

Well! That's that completed. It's twice as magnificent as I had hoped, at the very least. Wonderful, wonderful stuff.

And finally a great many thanks to everyone involved: both in making and funding it. I could not be happier or more pleased with the finished product.

[1] #Thatonetime I accidentally named a character after a far-right political party. :derpytongue2:

Greg F just is Dotted Line.

You cannot tell me otherwise.

Shhhhh. Don't blow his cover! It's his vacation. Turns out he's a fan of PoE fanfiction. Who knew, right?

This is so great on many levels.

I hear Scribbler is here in Baltimore with us all but the odds of locating one single pony nerd in the crowd seems remote at best.

Well, they goofed by referring to Jeff, then Jeffina, having cut out the paragraph about Jeff/Jeffina's gender (and sexual dimorphism - Yes, I did listen to all four chapters with the original in front of me: I'm that obsessive sad).

Other than that? the only other nits I could pick are purely a function of how they put these things together, and I 'aint going to knock them for not having a recording studio or seven to do this in. I'm just going to be pleased they did it, let alone that they did it so well.

This really is an excellent piece of work. I started off not quite seeing Greg F as Dotted Line, and now I can't hear anything else when I read his dialogue. And Leafy's voice grew on me rapidly as well.

Woo! This means that my scheme to hand this out at the world scifi con is a go!

Having watched the whole thing today, I gotta say this reading made me fall in love with the fic all over again.

Took me some time to get round to listening to this chapter. Hotel WiFi is not ideal, nope, and I'd eaten up dangerous amounts of my data plan by the time the weekend was over.

So...yeah, had to wait until after returning home from Bronycon to actually listen.

I'm simply beyond thrilled with how this whole fic reading turned out. I'm equally thrilled to have been a part of it. Dotted Line was an intimidating character to read for, especially as I noticed how many lines he had.....Aaand I'll admit that as I was recording I was just on the verge of a nasty cold that was doing its level best to screw up my voice. Bits of this fic were tough for me to listen to....well, tougher than usual when it comes to stuff I was involved in, because I swore it was PAINFULLY obvious.

Yeah, she was there. Meeting her and all the other friends I've made in my short time doing amateur mini-horse voice stuff was a MAJOR high point of my weekend.

Reading your own stuff (or listening to it!) is always a bit tough but let me tell you: you are Dotted Line. It's set in stone now. That's what Dotty sounds like.

Well, I'm glad that you approve.

My most daunting role, but also easily the one I'm most proud of.

I owe you thanks for writing the story in the first place, and Scribbler for allowing me to be a part of her magnificent readings.

Well, I'm glad that you approve.

I most certainly do. Incredibly so.

My most daunting role, but also easily the one I'm most proud of.

Aww. Thank you.

and Scribbler for allowing me to be a part of her magnificent readings.

Oh, don't get me started on her. I have to exert some considerable willpower not to do the online equivalent of gamboling and pronking around her, Pinkie-style, while saying things like "YOU ARE SO AWESOME! HOW ARE YOU SO AWESOME?" &c &c &c. I think I weirded her out more than enough just by writing the blogpost that I did regarding the first chapter.

I was there, yes, and outside for a meet n' greet at one stage too, but otherwise spent a lot of time gawping at Murcan culture and architecture.
