Where have I been. I could attempt some yarn about how I was circling the drain or something overly dramatic full of the type of pseudo symbolism that the going through puberty set thinks is edgy and dark. In reality it's a lot of navel gazing and thinking you understand something more than you actually do or being overly disappointed when things don't work out because of a lack of experience,

My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)

There is or was a debate that carried on after the end of the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic that centered around the leadership of Twilight Sparkle. This debate came up when the general plot of the movie I will be reviewing became public knowledge. The backstory of the movie is that somehow magic was lost, the three types of ponies were no longer able to get along and because of

    Lady in White (1988)

Maybe it's just me but, at a certain point one must consider their lunch or dinner choices before heading into traffic. You see, traffic is a cruel mistress. It slows up, bogs down and in pretty much any other way it can will make your life difficult. Add into it a sizeable Mexican meal and it becomes the slowest most arduous race against the devil to get home and not ruin your pants.

    Galaxy of Terror (1981)

Pony Tale Adventures has been put out to pasture at the C&D ranch. It was a bit disappointing. The art assets, sound, and general introductory scenario were charming (at least on the safe for work version). It's a shame that we will never see the title make it to fruition. That said the end result wasn't a complete surprise.

    Lake Mungo (2008)

So, where have I been. I mean honestly this has been the first time I've submitted anything since July of last year. The truth is I've really been absolutely nowhere. I've weaved my way through the many days avoiding angry crowds of one stripe or another. I've paid my bills mostly on time if not for the laziness of the local parcel services I'd be on time. I've worked at my job and one foot

Day of the Animals (1977) · 7:46am Aug 6th, 2015

Fluttershy is probably the most powerful character in the entire show. There I said it. I know, some will note that she doesn't have any magical abilities or that she hasn't been the one to lead or to defeat whatever the big evil thing is that pops up in a given season. Yet, in spite of all of that she has managed to accomplish quite a lot for being a pony with the confidence of a doormat.

A small list of her accomplishments/traits:
She shamed an adult dragon and got it to leave when no other pony could.
Saved her friends from a manticore.
Defeated a cockatrice in a stare off (which also saved Twilight Sparkle).
Befriended the Spirit of Chaos (Discord).
Is still kind of a vampire.
Can out sew Rarity.
Was a Silver Medalist in the Equestrian Games.
Former Fashion Model.
Was the voice behind Big Macintosh when he lost his voice before a concert.
Has an army of animal friends.
In the right situation is The Incredible Hulk.

Fluttershy's biggest flaw is that she has a confidence problem. Perhaps she could get Discord to bring Snowflame over to their universe, I hear he's a God of Confidence boosting materials. Well he and Tony Montana. They could squash the cock-a-roaches that stood before them.

With her confidence problem solved she could then overthrow the Equestrian government one of two ways. The first way would be she could have Discord rip another hole in time and space and toss the princesses into the sock puppet universe. Only Mick Foley can get out of that universe and he had Mr. Socko to back him up. The second way would be to convince her animal army to rise up against the other equestrians. It would be lions, tigers, bears, birds, wolves and more. No one could stand in her way.

Speaking of nature run amok, Day of the Animals also known as There's Something Out There is a 1977 film that is about just that. According to the movie, the Earth's ozone layer has become so depleted that animals living 5000 feet above sea level will go crazy and attack. Unfortunately, Christopher George never got the memo and decided it was time to lead a bunch disaster movie characters on a paid hike through the northern California mountains. Oops.

Seriously, they've got all of your standard disaster movie characters, the kid, the idiotic young couple, the news anchor looking for a scoop, the new york mother, evil ad exec, the American Indian who knows "something is wrong." and more. Thankfully they also have a couple of fun character actors like Leslie Nielsen, Ruth Roman, Richard Jaeckel and Andrew Stevens (before he ended up in all the softcore movies). It's a fun but ridiculous sit through.

Stats:
7 dead bodies (not counting assumed dead bodies)
0 Breasts (PG rated)
1 Punch to the face
Cliff falling
Helicopter Flying
Excessive hiking
kid tossing
spearing
wrestling
rafting
shirtless Leslie Nielsen
snake fu
lion fu
bear fu
bird fu
sun fu
german shepherd fu
rat fu
wolf fu

Special Shout Outs:

Susan Backinlie as Mandy for proving she's not safe on land or in the ocean (Jaws).

Leslie Nielsen as Paul Jenson for wrestling a bear and saying, "If there's a God left up there to believe in. My father who art in heaven you've a made a jack ass out of me for years. Neville's God, that's the God I believe in! You see what you want you take. You take it!"

Ruth Roman as Shirley Goodwyn a recent divorcee whose voice and attitude make it obvious as to why there was a divorce.

Christopher George as Steve Buckner for fighting german shepherds, making a raft and saying, "My name is Steve Mr. Jenson!"

and
Bart the Bear for being part of a better wrestling match than HHH vs Sting.

Lol, this movie sounds terrible. Good terrible. :rainbowlaugh:

Also, that's some good insight about Fluttershy (and Discord (and Fluttercord)). Hastily jotting notes...

Yeah the movie is really silly and I had a good time watching it. It was also one of those movies I sort of had to watch because of the preview for the Something is Out There version. Not because it looked great but, I wanted to know what exactly were my darkest PG rated horrors.

I'm glad you liked the Fluttershy portion too!
