I just got back from what started out as a fun ride but gradually turned into a vision of some sort of social Hell. Imagine a room full of kids who all hate each other and are at each each-other's throats 24/7. Some of them act like 5 year olds, some are ignorant bastards who think that just because they are the Lance Corporal in charge of their room full of Cadets of the same rank, they don't have to do anything. Everyone in the room wanted to decapitate our Room NCO by the third day, by the way. Also, the next-door dormitory NCO was a hypocritical Irish guy who feels free to piss about in his own room, but as soon as he enters your room it's all serious business now!
Now... Imagine having to spend 10 days living with them and trying to co-operate with them in a 2 day Field Training Excercise, a full day consisting purely of both foot and rifle drill, military knowledge and navigation lessons plus much more.
I've just got home and man...
Am I glad to be home.
Training sucks but is necessary
