Sleep? What is this strange phenomenon you speak of?
MLP/Treasure Planet
I'm honestly surprised that there haven't been more crossovers featuring this obscure Disney film. Maybe because it was a box office bomb? I personally really enjoyed this movie, and while I agree with Roger Ebert that the setting seemed a bit "gimicky", I think that the look and tone was very unique and not something you see everyday. Plus the music? Gorgeous. The character of Long John Silver? Spot on. Plus I think that there is some rich story potential here, with elements such as the Etherium (think outer space with a breathable atmosphere), the designs of the ships, and the animal based alien characters fitting in nicely with the fantasy elements of MLP.
Set after the events of the film, the story could feature Long John Silver finding himself lost after escaping justice. Drifting through space, low on supplies, his ship is captured by a curious Luna, who rescues him and brings him to Equestria. Luna and Celestia both find themselves charmed and intrigued by the silver tonged cyborg, but remain wary of him thanks to a sense that he is concealing a more sinister persona than the simple ships cook he claims to be. When introduced to the Mane Six and Ponyville, they exhibit mixed reactions. Twilight is intrigued by the apparent proof of life beyond their solar system. Applejack senses dishonesty within Silver, and distrusts him accordingly. Pinkie is simply happy to meet a potential new friend, and soon is sharing recipes with him. Fluttershy is initially terrified of Silver's cyborg enhancements, and even after growing accustomed to them, she joins AJ in sensing the cruelty Silver hides beneath a jovial demeanor. Rainbow enjoys his tales of swashbuckling adventure, but listens to Fluttershy and AJ's concerns and so remains cautiously friendly. Rarity finds herself unsure whether to be put off by Silver's rough exterior or charmed by his equally rough yet roguish charm.
There is one pony in town, who is completely fascinated by Silver and quickly attaches himself semi-permanently; Pipsqueak. Silver in turn finds the eager young colt reminds him of Jim Hawkins, and takes Pip under his wing as a potential "gentleman o' fortune".
Things come to a head when a ship on a voyage of exploration arrives, bearing several familiar faces...
yooooo that sounds awesome. I've always loved that movie - it holds its own special place in my heart - and the description of RD's reaction to him (loving adventure and epic tales of heroism, yet also listening to her friends) is one that I have both seen this site lacking in and that fits a realistically canonical representation of her character that I love to read about. I would totally read that.
