Haha you thought I was talking about my sex life. Yay for click bait. Nah, I'm still a sexy single Batpone.

But today I woke up to 45 notifications and my latest story sitting in the bottom slot of the non-mature feature box. For someone who's still a virgin, I think that penetrating any "bottom slot" is cause for celebration. If you know what I mean.

It is speculated that the feature box algorithm has a bias against short stories. So how did I finally break through that to mingle with the FimFiction Elite? I postulate 5 a lot of points:

•While I submitted it Friday Night, it didn't get published until Monday afternoon when I messaged Alexstrauza asking if something was holding it up. There weren't too many new stories being published then, and ocalhoun has mentioned that Monday evening is the best time to publish new stuff. So it spent several hours in the "new story" front page.

•The new rule about votes not being shown until 15 (now 10) votes are reached means people are more reluctant to click on a new story unless it's already reached that threshold and has a positive ratio. Or it has a title that really stands out. Hmmmmm. Less people clicking on other new stories meant more people clicking on mine.

• I was able to tie the story to two of my top rated stories in a way that was authentic, one through being a LyraBon romance, one through being a crazy Bon Bon comedy. This increased my interested viewer intake.

•This story was super safe. Not for work mind you, and I think part of the holdup was this skirting needing a "mature tag". But it's:
• A zany comedy, which people like to read and I happen to be decent enough at writing.
• A romance, which judging by a quick look around, is a genre the users of this site really like and a genre I'm alright at writing.
• LyraBon, which fufills the triple requirement of being lesbian (people like those here), practically canon (thus the joke at the end, inspired by a quote from xjuggernaughtx's wife), and really vanilla (not gonna scare off people like FlashBlood or StrongSmith.).

• The Feature Box may have been a bit stale, with several old stories dropping out.

•People liked the story. I guess I'm an okay writer, at least of this sort of story. It had some good jokes, even if the middle section is just a joke dump. It's certainly not the highest rated story I've produced, but it got the votes, favorites, and comments in. And I made sure to reply to each comment. More comments means more heat.

• I slowly have been acruing followers. More followers means more eyes on the story.

•But most of all, I have to thank you, the readers. Thank you for taking the time to read and enjoy this story. You guys make what I do worth doing.
