Self-explanatory title is... you get the picture.
Not going to lie, I've been having one very busy summer, perhaps my busiest one in a few years. Working summer hours has been a challenge, but I'm happy to say that it has been rewarding as I got a promotion involving a new contract and a pay raise, so there isn't much to complain about. On top of that, I've been on a few weekend vacations out of town visiting relatives and having reunions with some of my best friends, all of those times being very memorable. However, as busy as the summer has been thus far, it's only getting busier, especially when it comes to August.
I decided to take a week's vacation the first week of August. This was so I could let myself unwind before not taking a day off again until next summer, and so I lined up quite the schedule. I'll be catching a concert that Sunday night and hopefully run into friends in my heavy metal community there, then catch a show the next night with my mother. After that, I'll be driving out to visit my little sister in Philadelphia as I don't see her too often, and then attend another concert in New Jersey the following day. And then, I'll be driving down to Baltimore for three nights, and why three nights specifically?
I'm going to Bronycon!
That's right, I'm going to the biggest brony convention on the planet, and it will be my first con on top of that! I'm driving in that Thursday to check out some sights and will be part of the bar crawl that night. Then it's going to be three glorious days of MLP before I drive back home that Sunday afternoon. I'm really looking forward to the convention, only having seen videos of past cons and events online, and I really want to take in a new experience of socializing with other fans of the show we all love.
I hope I get to meet and hang out with other bronies while I'm there, as I'm essentially going there on my own. I have two plans of how I'm going to look during the con: wearing some normal clothes that Friday and Sunday, but on Saturday I'll be dressing up as my alter ego username, Jesus Manson. If anyone wants to recognize me, I'll be wearing my badge with my same FimFiction/Twitter/Tumblr username on it - JesusManson666 - and I'll try posting pics of what I'm up to if you want to join.
Now as for where my stories currently stand, I'm happy to say that I just posted a new chapter in Taismo: The Equestria Games a little while ago. It is the first of three chapters that revolves around each other as they all take place in a simultaneous time period, giving several different little story ideas to branch out with instead of cramming every character in a single setting for so long. I plan to have the second installment of this little trilogy, Passing Times, sooner than it took the last update to be made, as I don't want to let several weeks pass by before then. In the mean time, the special chapter I mentioned about in my previous blog is being worked on currently and I hope to have it up before my vacation starts next week.
And in between all the work and vacations in the first half of the month and a work and concert-filled second half will be my birthday, and I will debut a brand new story that day! This will be a darker story in terms of theme and events in several parts, definitely different compared to what I've previously made. Work on that took a small halt during the summer as I put more focus on life and fandom activities, including starting this mid-season drought that began a couple weeks ago that leaves the fandom in a combined state of limbo and creative free time. So if you don't see one story updated, look for the new premiere on August 15th!
