I loved her, LOVE her...but she betrayed me, poisoned me, humilated me. Almost every part of me wants to forgive her, to understand her and stay with her for the rest of eternity. I saw her dream...it's a good dream, a dream I myself am not entirely against happening.
But I won't let it happen, I've played with staying and leaving, loving and hating this mare for what seems like forever. It's a story that refuses to conclude...but it will tonight. Because I'm going to fool this mare, I'm going to manipulate the manipulator with her own broken, twisted love for me.
I'm crippled, practically dying in this bed as she looks into my eyes, awaiting a reply.
"I love you," she said.
"I...love you too," I replied, truthfully, completely and totally truthfully.
But what I feel...I won't let blind me to what she's done. It's a tiny part of me that wants this, the rest is yelling at me to stay with her...forever.
...I can't, I won't.
I'm going to escape tonight. I'm going to flee into the dark with nothing, and somehow, someway...I'm going to escape Equestria and find a place so far out of Celestia's grasp that even if she finds me, there's nothing she could do to take me back.
And maybe somehow I will find a way to ignore the terrible ache in my heart at the smile she's giving me.
Tobias is going to run, but how far can he get before she finds him?
When she catchs him it isn't gonna be pleasant.

Do you really think Luna would believe him? Who's to say that Celestia didn't already tell her about the poisoning effects...such as hallucinations.

Luna is plagued with insecurities, Celestia knows this and uses them to keep her sister happy and unknowing of what she wishes her not to know.
We wonder about the Changeling Chrysalis, she could very well help be his safe passage granting hope. Perhaps a loyal changeling to help him travel to where he wished, maybe inform her when he believes he is safe and send letters or visit her friend? Political strained relations because Chrysalis could pick up his emotions as one would reading a billboard, or a neon sign. She could ask him certain questions to ensure none of it seemed made up, his recollection of events to why he wishes to flee for the fear and anger is strong... Also the conflict.
She may also recognize the signs of stockhorse syndrome due to her subjects having foalnapped others before.
The answer? Not very far, I would laugh so hard that he just barely gets out of the door to his room and she is right there with a net gun just waiting for him to try and escape.

Enough to where he contemplates and chooses to accept her psychotic tendencies, despite an entire story indicating you need to dump the bitch. Then again, it's Celestia we're talking about, so maybe there's no other choice.

You have to try and understand it from his mindfucked point of view. Everything Celly did to him, whether it humiliated or hurt him was all her way of showing her love. Now that he's been in her mind and seen how much she simply adores him, all the more or less stockholm mindfuckery going on in his head has been magnified tenfold.
Yet he's still going to run, how far he can and how far his manipulated mind will let him is entirely down to his resolve. Of which has steadily become lacking as the story has continued...
But he still might make it, I honestly haven't decided on which way to end it yet. There's every chance he'll escape her, but there's also every chance that she'll eventually find him and coax him back, with words, more mind fuckery or simple force I know not...

If you need to manipulate someone like that into staying with you, you don't deserve them to begin with. You need trust, and Celestia clearly lacks that.
