    I guess... a rant?

I've just been thinking about stuff recently, so bear with me. Anyone feeling depressed better look away. If you're feeling marginally optimistic, carry on reading. When you read an amazing book, or any book, for that matter, do you remember the author? I mean, it's much easier to remember the book itself, or the characters therein, than the person behind it. Everyone knows the fictional

My Headphones · 11:05pm Jul 28th, 2012

It is my utmost sadness to report the death of my headphones. We've been through hell together - travelled abroad, worked countless hours and I even managed to drop them in bath full of hot water once. All through the trials and tribulations, they have survived and done their job. After a year and a half, my headphones have finally broken. Now, you may think me as melodramatic, or at least a little sad for displaying emotions for the smallest of things. Possibly even sadder doe the fact I wrote a blog about their untimely demise. But, those headphones meant everything to me.

They were the ones that brought me into My Little Pony, forging my life as a brony. They allowed me to listen to YouTube videos - to hear to music and entertainment alike. They were of expert quality, delivering wubs and dubs brilliantly. After the early death of my laptop's speakers, my newly acquired headphones were literally worth their weight in gold. In short, the headphones were always been there for me. And now they're not.

Now, you may say: "But, Trials, they're only headphones! Surely you can just buy some new ones!" That's not the point. I took those headphones for granted, and now they're gone. My iPod sits next to me, unable to project its musical voice. I sit here, writing this blog, hoping that by petty regret that my clumsiness hadn't occurred, unable to listen to anything other music than the tinny tunes of my MP3.

So, a message to the people who managed to read this far: nothing lasts forever. Tomorrow, you may lose something precious to you. Hopefully not, but the threat will always be there. It may be something small and insignificant, such as headphones, or it may be something much larger. Who knows - you may even lose your life. I sincerely hope not, but hope hasn't brought my headphones back.

As petty as it may seem, it is sometimes the small things that matter. I'm not a very sentimental person, but the loss of my headphones has proven the importance - or perhaps the weakness - of such a trait. Don't take everything as just granted, my fellow stalkers, they'll be gone some day. Possibly sooner than you think.

Now I'm going back to writing with no music.

I am very sorry for your loss, ser. :fluttercry:

256218 Thank you very much - I'll get over it eventually.

Man, I know that one by heart. Lost my grandfather when I was eight (one of the few people in my family I actually liked) and then again when my old 360- which I got right after launch- RRoD'd right before last Christmas.

I know your pain, friend. I know 'er well.

... Does this comment make me sound like a bitch? I hope not.

Writing with no music? MADNESS! I might suggest you run down to literally any store anywhere, because you can get decent quality headphones from a gas station.

256232 No, it most certainly does not. Very sorry to hear about that, and I hope you've gotten over it. These sad things happen, and when they do, we never expect it. It's the same story, but with different characters.

256240 Nah, I've ordered the same pair of headphones off Amazon. They're too damned good to pass up, even if it takes a couple of days. :twilightsheepish:

I thought I was the only one who got all upset about when headphones breaking. It's not so much the fact that some plastic and metal device breaks it's that you're separated from your music. That's why I buy skull candy titans. They last me a year each which is a big deal considering the average $10 ones last me a week. I listen to music that much (and I'm abusive I guess :pinkiecrazy:)

256246

Okay good. I'm a bit worried about image. It's a flaw in my otherwise sparkling personality~

Kidding. Though if I may ask, what brand and model were they?

256251 Wow, Skullcandy lasts for a year? Mine barely survived a week...Anyway, I don't think you're the only one. Music is a very big part of most people's lives, so I wouldn't be surprised if others get upset.

256256 As am I - the blog did seem a bit preachy. These babies JVC XX (Xtreme Xplosive) Headphones. Best £15 I've ever spent.

256248 I usually just buy cheap ones from The Dollar Giant. They're literally a dollar, and they last a couple months.

256258
Yeah, music is quite literally tied to everything I do in life (except when I'm at work cause I can't) so when it's absent it's like a part of me is missing. I'm a drummer, and do competitive running as well as write to music so when my headphones break for even a day I can't function. I thought I was the only one. Wierd :rainbowlaugh:

256262 Meh, fair enough. I prefer something a little more long-term. If you're going to spend money on something, I'd rather spend a bit more to get a better quality.

256265 Yeah, it definitely feels like something is missing. I bet a whole bunch of people feel exactly the same way, too. It is pretty weird, but I also think it's a little necessary. Without headphones, I wouldn't even be writing this blog right now - they essentially made me a brony. :facehoof: Which is why I'm sad.

256261

15 squiggly symbols?! That's like... 20 bucks 'Murricuhn money! Added that to my shopping list.

256288 You surely don't mean that heretic currency? Nah, just kidding - even if bucks are more...squigglier. You won't be disappointed, trust me.

256311

With a customer experience like that? I doubt I'll have any problems.

256380 Only thing I'd say about them is that the caps are quite easily detachable - keep an eye on them, because they can fall off/out very covertly. Other than that, it's all true...

256311
Speaking of heretic . . .

256521 What about it? I'm not a heretic...:fluttercry:

256917
I meant device heretic. :twilightblush:
