Some Updates on Joker's Wild and some other stuff · 7:16pm Jul 14th, 2015
So, I have been told by some people that Twenty-Four THOUSAND words is a little bit more than what people are used to reading, and people would rather have the satisfaction of several chapters than have to refer to the book mark, so I am going to be spliting chapter 2 into 2 parts. I just wanted to say something so people don't think there is a new chapter and then get annoyed when they find out they have already read that part.
In other news, Chapter 3 is on its way! It is a little bit late in the schedule, but I have been really busy and I want to make sure every scene is memorable, every line is punchy, all the action is exciting, and the ideas inside are insightful and meaningful. Whether I can actually accomplish any of that is another story (oh great, just when I am trying to focus on one story...). Things take time and my muse just doesn't want to work with my schedule! Chapter 3 is going to be big stuff, so I hope people look forward to it. Joker's Wild is demanding, but it shouldn't be too long before this chaotic wasteland romp gets its next installment in.
As for other things, I have another story that is in the works, albeit it is on the back burner of the two stories. As one who lives by the laugh, I wanted to see if I could create a unique pony comedy. I have been sitting on a pile of characters who would be great for things, but I have never used them. I eventually got this weird concept that basically goes, a high strung no non-sense Unicorn pony named Sirius is working up the hierarchy in Equestrian public administration is hired to join a group of elite advisors and coordinators that work directly under Celestia herself and basically controls the ebbs and flows of Equestria itself. Sounds like a smooth gig, a dream job, but this character soon figures out that Celestia doesn't even do half the things she is supposedly acclaimed for doing, and council of advisors are a bunch of crazy goofball ponies. Every pony is terribly irresponsible, but no pony is more irresponsible than the princesses. This motley crew of so-called "Advisors" have to work behind the scenes, preventing things from exploding violently, and to keep up the illusion that things work in Equestria the way we are supposed to believe they work. I have a bunch of fun stuff, and I don't want to give too much away, but I don't yet have a good name for it, so if somebody wanted to spitball a few ideas my way, I would be grateful.
This blog stuff is interesting, because I am pretty sure nobody and a half reads this, but I guess these could be useful. I have plans to periodically throw out some socratic dissections of writing elements which could be fun. Until then, toodles.
