    Updates and Such

Well, as a thunderstorm rolls overhead (and hopefully doesn't knock power out), I thought I'd offer some updates on what I've been up to.

Long story short, I'm pretty much in gaming overload at the moment.

    Well, color me impressed.

All 78 episodes on 2 discs, the translation is just as solid as the Hulu version, the subtitles are on by default, and they even translated the mid-episode character cards.

We Need A Celestia Episode · 2:36am Jul 13th, 2015

There. I said it.

Too much attention has been given to Luna. Celestia needs some spotlight and character development.

Her role has diminished an alarming amount ever since, well, ever since Twilight stopped writing her letters.

I agree all the way.

I couldn't agree more. It needs to happen at some point in the near future.

From the SDCC Q&A:

Q: Are there other stories or characters you hvent{SIC} found the right approach for yet?
A: Lots of times they think of stories that get tabled until they can find a good way to do it. Mike wants a Celestia episode.

The staff are on the same page. They need to JUST DO IT!

Amen! Preach!

A Celestia episode, while it is a good idea could cause near irreversible damage to some parts of the fandom. While the limited characterization of Celestia may be annoying it allows the fans to believe what they want about Celestia.

3233409 The LAST thing showrunners should be worried about is fanon.

Fanon is developed, torn down by canon developments, and redeveloped around it all the time.

I absolutely agree. I'd love to learn more about Cely and see a bit about how her mind works. Though I did some research into the problems for writing an immortal character, especially one who's lived well beyond the normal human lifespan, because we don't have good references for how they'd think.

I'm glad the staff want to do it write that, and I'm glad they're taking the time to think about it before they take the plunge. I'll wait if it means they're going to do it right.
