Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata Has Died! · 2:01am Jul 13th, 2015
I've got some bad news for all you gamers out there!
The CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, died Saturday at the age off 55. The cause of death was a growth in his bile duct, a growth that he had removed during surgery in June of last year.
Satoru Iwata opposed Nintendo's plan to enter the mobile gaming market in the wake of its lackluster Wii-U console sales, until the last months of his life.
Satoru was with Nintedo since 2000, first as a director, than as a president to replace Hiroshi Yamauchi (who passed away in 2013 at the age of 85) in 2002. He was CEO of the U. S. divsion since 2013, and had a reputation as a hands-on CEO.
Now he joins Hiroshi Yamauchi in that great Nintendo Land in the sky.
R.I.P
I am deeply sadden by this sudden news. Nintendo was my life in gaming and the man behind the best games I have ever played is gone. My condolences go out to everyone close to Iwata and to Nintendo; the company that made me love video games.
R.I.P. Satoru Iwata.
Wonder who's going to take over as the president of Nintendo now.
3236481 I don't know. Iwata never had time to name a successor, I suspect that until a suitable person can be obtained, the remaining Nintendo higher ups will have to step in and take charge,
