Someone asked me on my Deviantart an interesting question tonight.
"I for one love your Baen stuff, and I've always wondered something. If Baen actually was a villain, what exactly would he do to Equestria if he took over? What would happen to the world or the girls?" In that same note, he asked he also asked me two things. If I was going to make a fic with Baen in the current season like the first one but have an epic quest tied into it, or something with Twilight going to a world where he is the villain.
Frankly....I'm actually not sure.... When I made Baen, he was made with the intention of being a hero and everything. Frankly, he does have Old Magic under his belt, no reservations with slaying things....I honestly don't know.
So now I turn to you all my dear readers, what do YOU all think Baen would do or what he would become?
The best way to go about it, I reckon, is to play up his violent side. So, all form of government outside of small village councils are non-existent. It's a dog-eat-dog world, where the strong take what they want from those who can't keep it. Baen is simply the strongest one around, taking what he wants, whatever (or whoever) it may be.
Alternatively, he turns Equestria into a giant barbaric war-machine. Rape, pillage and burn is the order of the day as he leads the ponies on a bloody crusade to either make the other lesser races swear fealty to him, or to crush those who refuse beneath his hooves.
It would take some corruption, but take away enough of his morals and I can see either path being plausible.

You play Magic: The Gathering? I imagine Baen would turn Equestria into something akin to the Mardu Horde or Clan Kolaghan. His bloodlust and need to prove himself in battle would become infectious, making every warrior who stands by him a savage, unstoppable force of destruction who's just as likely to cut down those who fight alongside them as they are their enemies.

Honestly, if Baen was a villain, I'm pretty sure Twilight herself, if not the mane 6, would put an end to whatever bullshit he concocted up pretty quick. After all, with Twilights buff against Tirek, I'm sure she's more than capable of dealing with a simple-minded barbarian.

It would depend on just how far Baen has gone off the deep end, though. Or even if he knows/remembers the girls. If he doesn't, he'll be going for the kill. The girls won't be.
