I'm honestly thinking of quitting this writing shit. I mean, I've written, furry, fanfiction, erotic, and everything in between, but I have never received such harsh (non-constructive, break-down) criticism as on this site here. Half of the appeal of being a brony was to meet people as loving, accepting, nice and tolerant as me. Don't get me wrong, you guys are awesome, but a few bad apples spoil the bunch for me here.
Is it me? Do I give off some aura of "HEY! Lets fuck this guys writing up a bit!", because I know I'm not a bad writer. I'm not bragging, I have no ego at all (trust me, beta), but I'm confident that I write at least partially well. I respond well to constructive criticism, but it's those tiny harsh critics that get at me. Am I doing something wrong here?
As bad as I think some stories are, I will never EVER call them down on it. Ever. That's morally wrong, and for them, emotionally draining.
I just ask that everypony do the same for me ._.

Only stop if you don't enjoy writing. Yes, there are rude people, but you just gotta brush them off. By quitting it just means that they won.

Not at all. on't worry about the... people who unnecessarily criticize your work. I think we all know the difference between what is acceptable, and what is not. Sorry to hear that you seem to be getting some of the unacceptable kind, but I hope that it doesn't lead you to stop writing. ESPECIALLY if writing is something you enjoy. A couple of bad apples shouldn't deter you like that.
Anyway, I'd prefer if you stayed, as I really do enjoy reading your stuff, but in the end it is ultimately your choice. ^_^

Ya. So it seems. We all want to be accepted by society, but once society sees how retarded we are, it will be apparent why we should have just stayed in the shadows.
This is the internet. You're part of a fandom. You post fanfiction. That's like painting a big target on yourself, lighting yourself up like a christmas tree and updating everyone's GPS to display your current location. People get obsessed with everything, and when they don't like what you do to their obsessions, they often get vocal. Learn to ignore it, because they're likely worthless people who would serve better as Soylent Green than anything else.

I have noticed that here, people take writing very seriously, sometimes too seriously. Most places, people will just ignore your work if it does not appear catchy.
