Spoiler Alert: Throne of Atlantis, Part Three · 1:08am Jul 7th, 2015

:rainbowhuh:: Guess not? The Queen, knowing that Orm's too much of a brat to be King, tells Mera to bring her other son, Arthur, to her, so she can begin training him to rule. I guess her custody agreement with his dad must've been pretty strict. Did we mention that Arthur's dad has just died? It didn't seem interesting enough to mention before.
:ajsmug:: No, not really. Anyhoo, Dr. Shin's talkin' wit' his partner, sayin' that the pics he's got 'a Arthur will finally prove Atlantis' existence. Ah fail ta see how photos 'a a bar fight, e'en one wit' a superhuman, prove that there's a city under the sea.
:facehoof:: Also, his peer turns out to be Black Manta, who, after presumably years of waiting, decides to send his men to kill the potential heir to the throne. Instead of doing so earlier, when less people would've been looking for him and trying to protect him.
:ajbemused:: So Dr. Shin goes ta talk ta Arthur, while Mera goes ta bring Arthur back ta Atlantis. Black Manta's soldiers manage ta polish off Shin, but not Arthur or Mera. Once again, maybe ya shouldn't 'a waited 'till a Royal Guard was accompanyin' him. Or 'till his super-strong Atlantean muscles were fully grown. Also, that fight was pretty violent. Rainbow, ya got Flutters' eyes, right?
:rainbowdetermined2:: Oh, yeah. Which is good, 'cause Manta just shape-shifted his own sub to look like an American sub and used the nukes to attack Atlantis.

:fluttershyouch:: W-won't we ever watch a movie where people don't violently d-die? Is that really a requirement for this blog?
: By the way, we still don't entirely understand human politics, so if that image was offensive, please forgive us. Superman and Batman go to Dr. Shin's house, where his research has been destroyed. The fiends, destroying a man's research! Batman deduces that Shin has been murdered, and Superman, by disobeying Batman and touching the crime scene, uncovers Shin's notes on Arthur. Gee, what a surprise; Batman was wrong for once.
Meanwhile, Atlanna, believing that the surface world has attacked Atlantis, still ignores Orm's pleas to attack the surface and instead decides to contact the Justice League and attempt peaceful negotiations. It's nice to see a ruler who leans more toward Celestia than Crysalis.
:rainbowhuh:: On the way to Atlantis, Arthur and Mera get attacked by a bunch'a fish mutants who I guess work for Ocean Master. The Justice League, coming that direction anyway, help beat the mutants. It's a pretty cool fight, but Mera keeps using hokey Hannah Barbara sound effects that totally clash with the vibe of everything else.
Oh, and I think Arthur and Mera have a moment at the end. It's not terribly memorable, though.
:twilightoops:: Back in Atlantis, Atlanna confronts Orm about the nuclear attack, which she's figured out that he's behind. He manages to stab her to death while her back is turned, and tells the rest of Atlantis...that a surface dweller killed her? I would've loved to have seen how he managed to convince them of that. How would a surface dweller have even gotten down in to her underwater chambers unseen?

:rainbowderp:: Meanwhile, Bats, Flash, and Shazam stay on the surface as back-up, while Supes, Wondy, Cyborg, and GL bring Arthur and Mera to Atlantis. Orm, now calling himself Ocean Master, uses Atlanna's trident to defeat them really quick. So, having the World's Greatest Heroes totally at his mercy....he dumps them in a giant trench so a monster can eat them. Wow, that's stupid. I mean, c'mon, you have no reason to draw out their deaths like that. This was a bad cliche decades ago!
:raritywink:: So, surprise surprise, Superman and Arthur break out of the trap, destroy the, urm, creature, and rescue their friends. Oh, and Arthur and Mera have another moment. I'm still debating over whether their chemistry is beautifully awkward or painfully awkward. It's a thin line.
:pinkiegasp:: But our heroes are still in trouble! Because Ocean Master is walking his Atlantean army to Metropolis!! Which is kinda silly, really. You'd think that with all of their advanced technology, Atlanteans wouldn't need to walk the many miles between Atlantis and Metropolis. But they also brought a tidal wave!!! And, man, Metropolis can't catch a break. I mean, say what you want about Man of Steel; at least that was only the first time Metropolis got attacked in that universe. In this universe, this is like, what, the third time Metropolis has faced an extinction level event in five years? That must be REALLY scary!!!!

*laughs at any and all Putin jokes*

And as for poor Flutters, I always thought it funny that she ends up liking Tarantino or something...if only for irony

3214317 Oh, good, I didn't offend anyone.
I honestly don't understand anything of international politics, so I just posted the image because it fit.
As for Fluttershy,
:yay:: I honestly haven't seen any of his work. I do, however, occasionally watch violent films. So far, though, I've been sort of, um, dipping my hooves in the water. Rainbow Dash has been helping me discover my, urr, violence tolerance level, I suppose. I've enjoyed some of Alfred Hitchocks' thrillers and a few of Guy Ritchie's and Gore Verbinski's movies. The Expendables was also good, i-in it's own way.

One of the few things I liked about this movie a lot was the animation.

Because nothing say's "I'm totally not a tyrant," like Ocean Master.

3243523 It's not bad.
3243537 I know, right? It's like trying to maintain a reputation as a benevolent, responsible ruler while insisting everyone calls you Dr. Doom, even though you never earned your doctorate. Oh, wait! :rainbowlaugh:
