It's been almost a year. It's been a troubling year, a very frustrating year. I spent so long away from here, that I've found it hard to get back into things. Much of this time was spent attempting to get another editor, after my first had to bail on me about ten months ago. I had obtained another, who had committed to the project, but he too left me, about a month ago now.
And in the meantime, whilst I waited for others to get up to speed on the project, next to no progress was made. So, enough with all of this. I am done with looking for editors (both the group itself and the act of looking). I will press on without one by my side, with only the help of a pre-reader whose acquaintance I had made a while back. Ascending Star is close, so close that I can taste it. It should have been finished years ago. I should not say anything more on the matter, because I have broke too many promises before.
The Legend of the Scorpion Queen was a first attempt at getting back into things. It takes place within Ascending Star's universe, although in a time period significantly before the chief events of the The Equestria Chronicles. It was my first attempt at emotional fiction, but I enjoyed writing it, and finishing it has taught me once more that dreams can be attained, that with hard work any mountain can be climbed. I am ready to start climbing again.
If anyone still eagerly watches Ascending Star, you might have noticed the first updates to that story in nearly a year. Chapters 5 and 6 have swapped positions, and Chapters 4 and (the old) 5 have been revised in relatively major ways. Next, I will completely rewrite Chapter 7, and insert a new chapter as Chapter 8. Chapters 10 and 13 are the next few that require (major) revision. Once that is done, I will commence with the rest of the story.
When that is finished, I will turn to What Society Expects From a Princess. There is a story that has been neglected, all the worse because it has a legitimate following, and looks like it is actually quite good. It will only take a few chapters more to finish.
When that is finished, I will commence at once on Act II of The Equestria Chronicles. In the intervening time I will once again search for an editor, and I may even get one for Society.

Have you looked at the pony fanfiction thread on TV Tropes? A lot of the posters link their drafts there for proofreading, as well as bounce around story ideas.
