Party Pooped. Thoughts and Feelings · 2:51pm Jun 28th, 2015

Well, that escalated quickly.
(Warning. Some Spoilers ahead. You've been warned)

Episode 11, season 5 of MLP Friendship is magic, Party Pooped. Here we have the triumphant return of a Pinkie Pie episode. And man was it fun. I love these episodes. While Pinkie Pie isn't my favorite of the mane six (she's number 3 in my list) I love her episodes. In normal episodes where she isn't the main star, Pinkie seems crazy, random, unfocused and down right oblivious. But when one of her episodes comes around, we realize just how smart and caring she actually is. So, lets get started.

The Mane Six are hosting a diplomatic meeting/party for the Prince of Yakyakistan, the Yak country, in Ponyvile. Unfortunately, right off the bat things go wrong. The Prince is insulted by Twilight's attempts to replicate their food and culture, causing the Prince and his two guards to violently reject the food and begin smashing the place. Imagine the Hulk multiplied by three and hairy. Fun image isn't it?

The mane six then spend the day trying to please the Yaks but things keep going wrong. Finally, their last hope is a party held later that afternoon, courtesy of Pinkie Pie. But, after watching the Yaks all day, Pinkie has serious doubts she can pull this off. So, she goes to Yakyakistan to find inspiration, leaving a very panicky Twilight to try and hold the fort until her return.

I loved this episode. We got a call back to Twilight's 'Lesson Zero' freak out, along with a few of her best faces from that episode, and we even got to see Pinkie freak out a bit. The best parts are Pinkie's misadventures on her way to the Yak home land. I won't spoil them all but I do have to mention that, apparently, Pinkie Pie was in the Equestrian version of the Beetles. I don't have words, that's just awesome. And the conclusion of her trip is hilarious.

Now my thoughts. We once again get to see Pinkie at her best. Not just the random insane party pony, she goes above and beyond to help her friend and we get some great scenes that show just how smart she really is. Turns out, Pinkie Pie is Batman. She has her very own Party Cave built under the Cake's bakery. And through that cave we find that Twilight is afraid of quesadillas.

Twilight: They're just so cheesy.:twilightoops:

I love it so much. Now I want to go a little off topic. This episode, while fun, got me thinking. What would happen if Equestria was ever attacked by an organized military group? What do you all think would happen? Share your thoughts below.

Finally someone who AGREES with me on this episode. (Also please understand my Batman the Musical joke yesterday was just a joke and not an actual suggestion for a Batman musical.) I agree on a lot of points, for a new writer with an even worse track record then last weeks, he seems to have a good grasp on MLP. The Yak's while rude, were just HILLARIOUS in my opinion with their destruction. Pinkie Pie being at the top of her game was also perfect, this is why I love the character so much. Twilight's freak out's were awesome, and come to think of it. Was having each of the Mane Six's efforts being smashed a clever way for the new writer to practice characterization?.. Hmmm.... And in regards to the invasion, I could see the guards getting pulverized in two seconds, and the princess' having to do all the work. Or have Twilight and her friends do all the work, with Celestia taking the credit.. Thought's on my thoughts?

3189413 I think that Equestria has the potential to be one of the scariest military forces in fiction. Twilight alone has shown us just what kind of terrifying magic unicorns can use. Mind control spells, transformation spells, 'blast ponies into oblivion' spells. Imagine a whole army of unicorns trained with those.

Then you have the pegasi (unsure how to spell that right). Air superiority and control over the weather. Dangerous for any army to fight. And finally the earth ponies could make for a serious ground force. The extended Apple family alone could be a powerful assault team.

It was one of the things I liked about the Canterlot invasion. The Mane Six proved that without training or combat skill, 6 ponies could punch through a heavy line of troops relatively unharmed. If they had more back up and some weapons, they might have been able to get through to the Elements. The only reason they failed that time was they were out numbered and the guards were busy trying to help civilians.

Yeah, I still call out the guards for NOT LOOKING UP AND SEEING A SWARM. But other then that, I loved part 2 of Canterlot Wedding, hated part 1 though. And I'm also pretty happy, after two weeks of new writers we finally go back to an old writer next week with good old M.A Larson in an episode about Twilight going back to Canterlot to apologize to her friends there. I already see the concept and I know how hard it is to pull off, but Larson is one of the show's best writers so, let's hope he can do well.

3189438 I know. I completely forgot that Twilight had friends in Canterlot before Ponyvile. I thought they disappeared into the void after Nightmare Moon was beaten. I wonder what will happen?

I can see it going one of two ways, the friends are pissed and ignore her for basically forgetting about them for 2 years. Or they try to kiss up to her now that's a Princess and Twilight has to figure out who her true friends are.

I hope its the first one.

Great chance for character development there and a good moral too. The second one would just be a rehash of another great episode. Hopefully we'll get something along the lines of 'Sweet and Elite' rather then 'Canterlot Wedding part 1'
