For everyone with autism or everyone who knows someone with autism, how well does this song describe the situation?
I listen to it and it's scary how much of my autism it captures, just that general attitude of wanting a nonsensical universe to make sense, but it never does. You've got that obsessing over the most minute details derailing the bigger issues. Then you have me at a party I have little interest in and the roommate who agrees to help me do something I've lost track of. Finally, you've got that pessimism that even if you get to the point where you're convinced that even if you do everything right, you'll still get punished for something you didn't know you were doing wrong.
Then there's this song...
A.K.A., the "I've got my insanity defense!" song. It's a wonderful fantasy sometimes when you're frustrated by the universe. Even if you're better than to act it out (a good many people with Autism are incredible goodie two-shoes), just the idea of giving the world a taste of its own confusion is simply intoxicating.
But, that's just my experience. What's yours'?
