Gay Marriage in the U.S · 5:19pm Jun 27th, 2015

"LoveWins", It is amazing to finally see marriage equality for everyone, no matter what their orientation is, across all the US. And what's also amazing too it's that Mexico too also legalized gay marriage all across their country as well, so I'll say it's a double victory.

(Gonna quote this from some random guy on Devaintart because what he says is basically what I think)

Well, I'm sure everyone is already tired of hearing about it, so I'll just get to the point.

For anyone who studies history with any remote degree of seriousness, they'll notice certain similarities between the push for gay equality and just about every other push for social progress. Since we're talking about America here, let's pick the obvious example everyone has thought of: the 1960's civil rights movement.

After seeing the various news articles about the US supreme court decision, I've noticed an amusing trend of arguments by opposition that reflects arguments made in the past. It's astonishing how quickly people forget these things.

"The supreme court had used it's power to force on Americans something that should have been done over time through debate and persuasion of the populace."

I agree. Forcing Americans to integrate their schools like that so that blacks and whites were going to school together was all just too sudden. We should have let the black kids deal with substandard education whilst they push year after year, decade after decade, to persuade a bunch of bigots whose minds will never be changed, to change their minds.

"Why are we forcing this unnatural aspect of our society upon America that previous generations of all societies unanimously condemned?"

Again,I agree. The mingling of other races with nice, lovely, pure white people has always been frowned upon in every society. There's never been a point in history where gays-- ahem! I mean, other races have mingled with strai-- white people without hatred or bigotry. It's not like ancient cultures ever overlooked such things and instead focused more heavily upon class rather than race.

"Allowing these people to have the same rights as me infringes on my religious freedom to oppress them."

Absolutely. It says right there int he bible that those who follow the lord can not mix with the heathens. But we can purchase slaves from them, and there's some very helpful passages telling us how to treat those slaves. Who are we to disagree with god even though he doesn't exist?

Give it a few decades. They might even have a gay history month by then. And every empty headed fuck whose parents were so adamant that they had the right to impose their values on people they don't know nor can be affected by will be saying "Yup, they sure were bigoted back then. Not like us now."

People learn at a snail's pace.

Yup. I love the righteous sarcasm in that post.

Sorry for being cliche, but even if people are against this movement, shouldn't they still love and tolerate those who are part of it? That is in the Bible: Love thy neighbor. Even if you disagree with what they do.

I have had gay/lesbian friends, and loved them all the same. They're still people.

Would you hate and disown your child if he/she had a drug problem? Would you hate your brother or sister if they were mentally unstable? I've seen a lot of folks who supported murderers. And they barely knew them. Why would they be so intolerant of homosexuality? Especially when it isn't hurting anypony.

My point is, homosexuality is looked down upon like it is a crime. I believe in God and the Bible, but i'm not going to force religion down anyone's throat. If they want to know, they'll ask and i'll happily guide them the best of my power.
I know some who claim to be a child of God open their mouths to bash homosexuality and other things while they hold a bottle of alcohol and a gun in their hands.

Someone tell me if I'm wrong, but that's the way I see things. This is the My little pony fandom, after all. We should do as our favorite ponies and "love and tolerate the shit out of folks".

As for the whole mixing of races, I'm pretty guilty of that. I married a Mexican, and I love him for the person he is. Of course, I doubt that's looked down upon more than same-sex relationships, but i thought i'd throw that out there. I've been judged for it, living in the South and all, so I wouldn't want to make anyone else feel what i've felt. (No his name is not Jose.:facehoof:)

Especially when it isn't hurting anypony

Also, i just realized that i have been a fan too long. :facehoof: "Anypony" replaces the word "anybody", now.
Totally not an accident. :rainbowderp:

Give this man a medal!

I believe Germany, Canada, England, and parts of China already were behind same sex marriage.

3187340 There are. We are the 6th country in America to have same-sex marriage

Which is ironic but awesome
