Ok, I'm aware that I've mentioned before about how I am continuing this story, which I am, however the reason that I haven't continued it just yet is due to a large block that I don't know how to overcome. I have no idea of how to continue this fic as I have a lot of time to make up for, like 2 bloody seasons, and I'm not sure what to do. I'm considering updating the fic so that Twilight is an alicorn and bringing forward to after her coronation but before she gained her castle, then remedy that soon. The problem is that I don't know what anyone would think if I did this and whenever I think of how to make up for two seasons, it makes hard to concentrate on what I actually need to write.
I would appreciate it if I could get some views on this idea.

There would be some confusing bits by fast fowarding to more current state of affairs. Just take your time and work your way fowarding into your story till you gradually catch up with how things are in the show. maybe putting you own little spin on how things come to be as compared to the show. That's what I recommend. Or maybe just make a completely original story entirety ^_^
I think that you should maybe do an original story and only incorporate important events from the other seasons like the Crystal Empire, Twilight's ascension, and her victory over Tirek. In that way, you can focus on the guys interaction with the gals and rapidly advance the story as attempting to incorporate all the episodes in the story would only give you unnecessary problems.
You don't have to include events of the other seasons. You can focus on just the mane6 and their interaction with your characters.
Forgot to ask, will the Changeling Princesses come back soon? I personally find their interest in Sam and Josh to be among the best sources of humor in the story.

I think you should just stick with what you already have. I have read through this story many times because of its humor and great story. Start off from where you left the story with the Heros in the woods with the animals disappearing and go from there! Please consider this option
